Date: September 07, 2014 04:15AM I'm not a big fan of Wheeler either...he's sidelined because of an injury...period. Trying to grasp anything with a bum thumb is painful in and of itself (been there, done that); even worse when you're trying to grab someone who doesn't want to be grabbed and is fighting you the whole time. Despite what we think of Wheeler's play, it's better for him to heal rather than fail terribly during the Pats game and than make matters worse for subsequent games because the thumb is worse. Besides, I don't want him to play at a reduced level...the team will really suffer...so will we--the fans. It's the first game--not playing is a good move.
