Holy shit , where did this Kid come from!? I know he was playing against 3 string scrubs, but holy shit! He was killing them! Didn't see Dion Jordon do squat against the same scrubs. I am completely over not trading Dion when we had the chance. Hickey has done a great job finding undrafted talent and in the 7th round with Fede!

If Dion Jordon gets his act together and starts performing after the bye great...........if not I'm good because the second round pick we would have got has been more then made up for in those two acquisition's.

I'm a big Fan of Dennis Hickey so far.

A Bunch of undrafted rookies made the team: DT Anthony Johnson, RB Damien Williams, RB Orleans Darkwa and TE Harold "Gator" Hoskins.


I'm really liking the fresh blood.

yeah Hickey seems to have hit it here, as well as on Johnson & Williams. This is how Seattle built their team hitting it big on late round picks and undrafted FA's

The big switch here is on Philbin's part.

McCain, Johnson and Williams were kids who had issues in college and didn't fit the "prototype" Philbin was looking for his first two years. I have to wonder if Ireland would have bothered to even look at two kids who were dismissed from their college programs and another who failed a drug test leading up to the draft.

The encouraging thing to me is this indicates that Philbin is less ideological and more practical in his 3rd season AND that Hickey has total control when it comes to acquiring talent.

Another way to look at it is that Philbin's way wasn't working. His job is now on the line. New GM walks in. Let him call the shots with input from Philbin.

Hickey "seems" to be doing a good job in his picks, but let's see what happens during the regular season with these picks. The preseason means nothing, except, as one poster said, its scrubs vs scrubs.

Those
scrubs" help win championship's. Team hasn't looked this optimistic in a long while.........

I love these so called diamonds in the rough because you never know when one is going to jump to the forefront and become a star.

For the past several years we have had these mediocre backup LB'ers just sort of hanging around and not doing much. (Not to mention the starters). They never really develop but the coaches keep them around because of this that or the other....special teams, draft position, contract, etc.

Now we get a chance to see a guy like McCain or Jordan Tripp with the hopes that they will flash. It would be so cool to see these guys become a dynamic duo for the next 7-10 years.

Hopefully some of the rookies will develop into superstars....Im really waiting for tripp to start somewhere in 2014.....At some point they need to sit wheeler if he starts stinking again...Im sick of it.

BTW the season is here....>.....Someone needs to update the roster on the site........
