I live a good 3 -4 hours north of there and wasn't sure how far it was from the current stadium. Still 100 cops! That's half my Department! If they want to put the city on the fast track to being Completely destroyed that's the way to do it. Sad. I just got done reading a Jackie Gleason autobiography . That was a great city 45 yrs ago. Maybe if the Dolphins bring home a super bowl it can do for Miami what the SB did for New Orleans. GO DOLPHINS!!!! Re: City of Miami facing serious budget cuts..........

You know....I'm going to sound like an old fuddy-duddy here, but it REALLY was. It wasn't as crowded, crime wasn't as bad, there was greenspace. Not anymore! That's not to say there's nothing good about Miami. They're doing some redevelopment downtown and I hope it works out. The Brickell area is really taking off as a neighborhood, "The Roads" is still a good area, and Coconut Grove always was great. The *management* of the city is the real problem. Here's hoping. Even though I'll never move back, I'm still rooting for the place. I have friends and family there.
