Statistically he's better than Clabo who was WAY better than Columbo.
Sure everyone was in favor of signing columbo...but he was a training camp casualty in Dallas. Its not like people were asking for him over any other RT on the market. He was the ONLY RT on the market that week and we had a need. He was worth a shot.
The crime wasn't that we brought him in. Its how long we stayed with him.
I haven't seen enough of Streif to have an opinion other than he played on a good team and didn't stand out as a bad player.

I would take pass block and protect tannehill all day.
Man......Strief would really make this Off season a success and relax the feel of the draft IMO. They could still hit on 2 linemen in the later rounds and concentrate on the best players available instead of drafting for need which rarely pans out.
Shelley Smith's path is not unlike that of Evan Mathis, who is now the best LG in football.
We had him on our roster but released him half way thought the 2008 season. He bounced around the league as a backup for about 7 years before he finally figured it out. Finally made the PB at age 32.
I'm not saying he will be as good but he definitely has untapped potential.
I know you guys love PFF stats so....Smith was the 4th ranked run blocking guard in football last year. behind only the two guards in Philly and Brandon Brooks in Houston.
Good luck with that minimum salary! What a joker. They already showed they have no loyalty to their players by releasing half the team last week....but he wants to stay. lol
He may regret that when they release him next year at 31 years old.
