Jimmy Graham, who is a TE, is battling to get WR money because he has lined up in WR positions more than TE. Uhhh...Jimmy, you are a TE who happens to line up in different receiver positions to get mismatches.
If he gets WR money, the NFL better look out, because there are a lot of TEs that do the same thing as Jimmy.
Granted, he is an important piece to the Saints' offense, but take away Sproles (which looks like that is going to happen) and Colston, and Jimmy gets shut down (ala vs the Seahawks).
The NFL, IMO, cannot allow this to happen. If that does happen, then there will be a battle of LB vs DE, MLB vs DE, etc. Salaries are already crazy, never mind opening up this can.
And...Jimmy actually says he can't believe what the Saints are doing, i.e., Sproles, Moore, etc.
Well, Jimmy, think about it. If the Saints are to pay you WR money, they have to let other players go to keep themselves out of cap hell. You are only hurting your team.

Interesting...although I don't get the part about the NFL has to do something about it. I thought that's what the salary cap was for. If a team wants to overspend on him, that's their problem, and they'd have to manage the rest of the team payroll accordingly.
It really all depends on what group he's associated with on the team, does he attend WR meetings and answer to the WR coach?....or does he attend TE mtgs and answer to the TE coach? Plain and simple......
The topic is money. Graham is trying to get maximum money for his production. If his production matches or exceeds that of receivers I agree he should be compensated.
