Right now I can only see him in a figurehead position. Not sure he would want that.

I very rarely watch the pre-game dribble, but Marino wasn't bad was he? Wonder why CBS canned him?

They canned him because he was hitting on the CBS executive producer's daughter. 21. and tender.

They said shes was pregnet with Danny's Triplets.

Too late to can him now.

He done done the damage.

That would be a good position for him, right now.

He has no experience with front office matters, so let him learn everything from everybody on the staff. Once he gets experience, then move him up.

If Dan joins the Dolphins right now, he won't be doing much.

IMO, Dan was never a great public speaker, but he got through all his gigs.

From what I read, they removed both Dan and Shannon Sharpe to make room for Tony Gonzalez to bring a more up-to-date perspective on things NFL.

Why they removed Dan vs Boomer, I don't know.

We'll see how all that works out.

boomer does the cbs radio broadcasts. i'd imagine his gig on tv is tied to that contract.

But they kept Boomer Esiaon? really? he has the personality of a cinderblock. I always liked Dan on Inside the NFL on HBO. Ross will take care of him. Think he is any good at spotting talent?

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I think Elway started in Arena Football though. He did work his way up some. I hated the way the Broncos picked Tbow and then treated him. Whatever. As much as I admire Marino , My first son is named Daniel! I gotta wonder again.........is he any good at picking Talent? What does he offer us in this completely New realm for him? The PR benifit is obvious, but does he make the Team better?

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I don't know the answer Treasure. but all I know is it is silly to say that Dan probably won't be as good based on the brief experience he had with it compared to how long Elway has done it.

It's amazing what some people can do when the opportunity arises.

Marino could be with the Dolphins organization very, very soon. That's just my opinion and not based on fact or rumor started by anyone.

I think he can pick talent. Superstars know who else can play the game. I know when I played that was the case.

Elway has been a business owner for years and is more of a businessman IMO. He owned multiple car dealerships as well as an Arena Football team. He was not just a figure-head as Marino was with Autoway and NASCAR.

Elway was also chairman of the Arena Football League's executive committee.

Elway has a degree in economics from Stanford.

Marino went to Pit.

I love Marino as a player but to be honest, he wasn't great as an analyst and was also involved in a sex scandal. Same thing that got Frank Gifford fired from MNF back in 98.

Now he is going to be executive VP for Miami like Elway is for Denver? I doubt it. Probably not a great move but nothing I would put past Ross.

exactly eesti. I would almost rather see Zach Thomas involved as a motivator. Dan would be great at shaking hands and holding babies, but I'm not confident in his upper management abilities.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I too love Marino but just because he was the greatest qb I ever saw play does not mean he will make a great exec.

Please, please CBS hire him and fire Phil Simms!!! I hate listening to that guy.

I personally would like to see Marino get a job somewhere in the front office... I don't think we really have much to lose by it, so why not... Marino has the most to lose by doing it...
I am also not naive enough to believe that just because Marinoa was talented means he can spot and build a talented team... We all know with Micheal Jordan in Basketball and Gretzky in hockey, greatness playing the game doesn't always translate to greatness in the front office... But honestly with Ross, Hickey, Aponte and Philbin, and what happen last year, what do we really have to lose by giving Marino a shot at some level...

Yeah that was bad my old school would not be proud.

Pitts a f-ing good school they are ranked 67 worldwide.

Stanford is in the top 3 as I remember.

Bottom line it does not make intelligent conversation to knock Marino or Pitt.

In all seriousness...WTF is he going to bring to this team? Yeah he was one the GOAT's but HE IS NOT THE ANSWER to this team's woes

We all love Danny here, but I struggle to see a meaningful role for him. He's not interested in scouting and I question if he has the patience to coach or wants to tolerate the long hours.

I agree with both those statements Chris, but IF, and that's a big IF, Ross want's a "football" guy calling the shots and overseeing the overall football operations, I don't see why Marino wouldn't fit in it that roll, he's a respected person in NFL circles I would think, he should have enough football knowledge to hire the right people, GM's, HC's, etc. And he should have enough savy to mediate disputes between HC and GM. I'd rather have him doing that then a Dawn Aponte or someone else, no?

Because Marino would be chasing Aponte around the office all day and hire one of the cheerleaders to be his secretary.
