So I'm wondering, who thinks that we should let Matt Moore walk after the season is over when he becomes an unrestricted free agent?

I think we should try to keep him here as the backup (Provided Joe Philbin agrees to that thought). The dude seems to embrace whatever role he's assigned to and that displays some good character of a real team player. Just as important, I'm impressed with the way he can come off the bench - It's as if he didn't skip a beat from the end of last season. That's the kind of confidence that I want from a backup QB & for this team to have for it's backup.

Why let him go unless some other team makes us an offer we can't refuse.

I am pretty sure Moore wants to be a starter or at least have the opprtunity to compete for a starters spot. I don't think there is any way he remains in Miami next year.

Coaches also love Devlin and he may be ready to ride shotgun....after he finally has coaches who can develop him.

I don't remember anyone saying Gaffney was going to be a savior as a number 3 WR. I, for one, thought having a smart, veteran, recent 1k receiver would open things up for the offense.

It's pretty short sided to try and judge him after ONE game where was thrown the ball twice. We still don't know what he will bring to the offense or what chemistry difference he will have with RT compared to Moore.

yeah, I don't like it when people go overboard in the positive direction either. But part of his shtick is aimed at DolphinKing. Only part of it is excessive optimism.

Maybe its me, but I'd rather hang with the optimists and let them enjoy the first reason for optimism they've had in 13 years a little rather than rain on their parade with wishy washy comparisons of highly selective stats merely to temper their enthusiasm.

You hit the nail on the head...You are exactly right. Its been 13 or more years since we've had any hope of having a great QB. Whats wrong with a little enthusiasm.smileys with beersmileys with beer

All i know if nanee didnt fumble on a perfect spiral from the real deal that went for about 20 yards.....we would had another win....

I havent read everything....but i would not compare nanee to gaffney

nanee is a bust gafney is a player.

And i agree with the truth that having gaffney as one of your wrs changes everything....

Just wait until the real deal throws to gaffney....

Sure, we'll make him an offer at back up money.

But if you are Matt Moore and can get better money and a chance to start somewhere else...what deal are you going to take?

I'd be happy if Moore is here. I won't be happy if we pay him any serious money to carry a clipboard.

Moore clearly made the same offense that has been kinda stagnent with Tanny look almost explosive.

It would be nice to see what the offense would do with Moore attacking down the field instead of Tanny changing the play to a short safe pass.

Moore should have started this year....

Tanny looks really good for a rookie QB who is content in playing every play safe.

I think we are deep in the QB position which is fine by me.

It's that sort of insight that got Tony Sparano his first OC job.

11 passes for 131 yards is explosive? Clearly you didn't really watch the game. The Miami Dolphins were explosive but the offense was in no way, shape or form, explosive. This was a victory led by a team that resembled that of Trent Dilfer and the 2000 Baltimore Ravens.

We were beaten in just about every single offensive category except turnovers.

Jets had more first downs, rushing yards, passing yards, third down conversions...

Matt Moore was efficient, managed the game well and did a GREAT job but explosive? Is this a serious post or are you trolling?

I wouldn't be so hard on dolphin. I think we HAVE GOT TO RECOGNIZE that just like there are great things Tannehill can do that Moore can never do, by the same token there are things that Moore can do that Tannehill can't do. They are two different coins from two different nations and it is hard to exactly compare the two.

Tannehill is a quick decision "bop, bop, gone!" quarterback.

Moore is a study, study, decide quarterback.

Sometimes Tannehill will have the better result when he makes the quick decision and make the 12 yard first down completion whereas Moore will get sacked waiting for something to come open.

But other times, rather than that 12 yard completion, Moore waiting will result in some defender neglecting his primary duty and Moore will hit an open target who will make 30 yards out of it.

They are two different quarterbacks who bring entirely different skills to the table. And be thankful for that because the Jets probably got blown out because they were preparing all week for the Tannehill they had seen several weeks ago and were completely caught off guard.

As much as I like Matt Moore- and I do- I must agree about this team being well prepared for this game.
