As some of you bow and kiss Russell Wilson's SB ring, look at what Jamie Dukes and Heath Evans said about the 2012 QB class redraft...
Dukes had the first pick and they both agreed the #1 pick would be Andrew Luck.
Heath Evans said that Tannehill would be #2. Said he is the closest "physically", "upside" and "skill" wise compared to Aaron Rodgers and if he had more talent around him, he would have put up even better numbers in his 2nd year AND that having so many new players around him may have slowed him down a bit.
#3 Russell Wilson (Heath Evans)
#3 RG3 (Jamie Dukes)
wow, that seems nuts to me. we are in year 3 and I think I'd prefer the guy who led his team to a SB win vs mythical "upside."
RG3 may never be fully healthy again so I can see that point
where's brandon weedon lol??

i've said the same. we reach for need way too often.
this year i see us reaching for the 4th or 5th OT in round one. Is he going to be much different than the one we could take in round 2 or 3 at that point?
I'd rather we take the best player on the board and if it happens to be jernigan or hagemann then I'll be happy.
At least this year we don't know what the approach will be. Maybe Hickey will surprise us. With Ireland, it would have been like the Groundhog Day movie... same shit, just a different year.

Your Laughable. Really. You give Tannihill Seattle's defense and OC Tannihill would be sporting some nice jewelry as well.

RESPONSE: No Treasure, you give Tannehill the Seattle Defense and Offensive Coordinator, and he would again be home sitting out the playoffs as long as he had the same head coach.

Guess we'll see. I think he's made some questionable decisions for sure, but capable of getting the Job done.

Treasure, I think the firings of Ireland and Sherman with Ross openly backing Philbin will lead to Philbin's downfall.
I don't think Philbin will change as I think he WOULD HAVE had his head been shaking on the chopping block but he had barely escaped firing.
If Philbin has shown anything it is that he is stubborn.
With Ross backing him to the point of basically saying that "everyone is expendable except Philbin (and Aponte)," then Philbin's natural personality is to do more of the same.
For an example, in one of our early games this year, late in the game itself, we were fourth and inches inside the 5 yard line. Instead of calling
1) a quarterback sneak
2) a fake run and then a pass
3) a quarterback rollout and run
4) a quarterback spin-around and hand off to the running back who has run up to the line of scrimmage,
Philbin calls the standard Philbin Miami Dolphin play of having
Tanny
1) take the snap
2) run back five yards where the running back HAS NOT MOVED FORWARD since the snap
3) hand the ball off to the running back
4) the running back then tries to get back that five yards AND the additional few inches
(of course any defense in the world would have recovered by that time).
THE ANNOUNCERS HEAVILY CRITICIZED PHILBIN FOR THAT PLAY which some announcers, of course, said cost us the game.
The very next week in an identical situation Philbin did the same thing AND IN THE FIRST HALF so as not to LEAVE ANY DOUBT that he does what he damn well pleases and the hell with the consequences or anybody else's opinion.
An idiot like that who cares more about his ego than his own success will CERTAINLY fail PARTICULARLY when the dumb a_s owner has basically given him a blank check.
I think Tanne will be fine next year. We have to win in spite of Philbin and that is where Lazor comes in. Developing a weekly offensive gamelan that can compete. Utilizing people like Clay and Thigpen week in and out.
so you're saying philbin will get no credit if the phins turn it around next year?
i get called a rose colored glasses homer because, while he has flaws, i don't think philbin is the main reason we didn't make the playoffs and think he can learn from his first 2 years as a head coach.
i wouldn't call that homerism, i'd call it a differing opinion.
you and chryen, on the other hand, are convinced it was philbin and if we do turn it around next year there's no way it could have been because of philbin.
so then the difference between the boards definition of homer and realist is that i root for the guy to turn it around and the realists root for him to fail?
No your panties get wet because you implement your own thinking into my post.
Any dumb ass knows the HC gets the most credit when a team wins the Super Bowl. If that' so then why should he not get the most criticism when the team loses. The scales are balanced. You are right about one thing Philbin IS learning. We don't have time for a HC to learn. It took him 2 years to learn his OC stunk and he was still in denial about that. He still has not fixed his oline. He still does not know how to integrate other plays into his WCO.

Our Oline and defense and OC stunk and the real deal almost made the playoffs.
Id like to see him play behind seatles Oline and along seatles defense and OC.
