When is the Globetrotter due back? or will he have Dawn or Philbin make the congratulatory phone call?

my prediction in order of likelihood

(1) brain gaine
(2) Farmer
(3) gaine or farmer with Xander coming on to be the #2 guy (word is DET doesn't really want him around)

but it will probably be something completely asinine like Eric Mangina

Out of the three reported finalists I'd rather have Farmer.

laconfora said xanders is more of a cap guy but everything i read says otherwise.

i love a guy with that type of passion. he had a goal to become an nfl gm and did what it took, working up the ranks, to get there.

we're going to hire gaine and next year we'll keep him when the entire coaching staff is fired.

3 years from then gaine will be shown the door and his assistant will be saddled with hat regime for a year.

rinse, lather, repeat.

I'm guessing it will be Farmer. For better or worse, Carl Peterson has Ross' ear and Farmer was his protege back in the KC days. I read an article that said he's a rising star so maybe he'd be a good hire.

Carl Peterson was despised in KC when he left and he's letting his personal feelings get in the way of an objective search.

I'm not a big fan of Pioli but he wasn't considered because he took Peterson's job.

Farmer is the favorite becuase Peterson worked with him and likes him.

Now he's forgotten more about football than ross will ever know but still, when this guy is in charge of the hiring process there's problems.

I just love you guys with crystal balls always looking into the future. Gaine MUST be a terrible GM if we hire him for the job simply because he's currently with the team and he worked under Ireland.

Fact is, he may turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to GM's...nobody knows.

All we can do is wait and see.

I'm betting it's gonna be Farmer.

I really couldn't give a shit. Seriously......our problems this season were a lack of coaching , not a lack of talent. I'm more excited about the Lazor hiring then anything. GM? (YAWN)

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Let's see any other team try to line up with Jon Martin and Sam Brenner and see where it leads them. Let's see them try to run behind a RG who cannot run block.

Nate Garner sucked as well. 5 years in the league and he is still not good enough to be a starter.

Danny Watkins, David Arkin, Dallas Thomas???? Talented? really?

Been telling our followers here not to put a lot of stock into what the media has been reporting. Much of it is rumor, and wrong. The Licht story is another example.

I don't think some reporter just makes up a story that Ross is out of the country and provides details...

Nope. There's a huge amount of CYA going on somewhere.

That an obvious attempts to rewrite the story as it benefits their position. That's my take...

Farmer was basically the free agent guy in KC from 2006 to 2012. 06-08 under Carl Peterson and 09-12 under Pioli. Who was signed over that period that is impressive? Did he find any diamonds from the rough?

Will Poole? Travis Daniels? Ashlie Lelie? Amani Toomer?

I'm not seeing a great body of work...and almost ZERO college experience.

I see some Dolphin trash in his history...

Seriously -- this makes sense since this org is run and based on cronyism.

Brian Xanders was informed he didn't make the cut.

He was the candidate I liked the best -- but that's based on casual observation and nothing more...

Jason La Canfora ?@JasonLaCanfora 4m

Browns exec Ray Farmer, a finalist for the Dolphins GM job, has opted to stay with Cleveland. Will not take second interview with Miami

You know you're 100% certified pond scum when someone from Cleveland turns you down!

LOL.

OMG this franchise is sooooooooooooooooooooo SAD!

Please sell the team Ross to anyone. Maybe even Ronald McDonald. Just do it. And shut UP!

Guys, we must all understand that there are no top notch GM candidates available right now. Ross is just going to have to hire a guy who wants to be there and is willing to work along side Philbin and Aponte.

Whomever is hired is not gonna make much of a dent in the Fins' organization.

Many things will have to change for Miami to get one of the top guys, and it just ain't gonna happen this year.

So, let's not get too excited as to who is or is not hired.

My point was that I would rather have Brian Gaine than Farmer based on his resume.

That's a great hiring philosophy BTW....Just ss long as you "want to be here".

Should we just not give our opinions on the candidates, Obi Wan? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Feel free to not get excited!
