He didn't make the interception. Only the tip. And it was a badly thrown ball that if Sherman wasn't there, it would have been incomplete because as I remember it, the receiver had his back to the ball and Sherman jumped 20 feet high into the air to tip it to his fellow SeaHawk. No way would the receiver ever have caught it.

Sherman's greatest contribution was that tip. That allowed his teammate to intercept the ball but think about it.......what if another receiver had been in the area to get that tip??????????

Actually it was a dumb play. He could have more wisely chosen just to let the ball go incomplete out of bounds.

But if he doesn't tip the ball, it's incomplete and it's third (?) down and Kaepernick has one more play to win the game.
