I like the hire. That is a fast paced offense that he's leaving, the kind of offense that Philbin led us to believe that we would be running.
He's young, up and coming and yet, experienced.
I actually like this hire. Wow hope the gm is good too. Play calling can not get worse and I also believe that he will be the one to help Tanny break into elite status. Awsome job Ross.

I don't foresee any other coaching moves. Tannehill has progressed nicely under Taylor and it's hard to fault Turner much for the scrap heap that Ireland threw on the field (or the meltdown by Martin).
I am wondering about play calling and innovations to Philbin's offense under Lazor...and what refinements he can make for Taylor/Turner as QB/OL coach.
Hopefull some changes to the play cadence as well as a more up-tempo and unpredictable offense.
Of course, Philly had the best RB in the league, the best guard in the league and some pretty good tackles.

Although you may be right if Lazor wants to add his own assistants.
Chyren- Philbin by contract has control over the hiring of his coaches, he had it when Ireland was here and he has it now that Ireland is gone.... I agree that this whole hierarchy issue is dangerous, and would like the GM to have some input on these type of decisions... but he doesn't....
IMO we are setting ourselves up for another divided organization in the coming years.... But the real problem is Ross, he is making these rules and has zero experience in football management to be making these type of decisions... But hey, he has a few billion so he gets to play Mr Football management.... .....
As Far as Lazor goes, interesting hire, lets see what he does or comes up with, we have no idea what kind of impact/input he had on the eagles... It is like asking yourself what kind of impact Zach Taylor had on this team this year, was it positive was it negative... His boss, father in law and mentor got fired. Not a great sign for the young Sherman protege..... So were the offense problems on Zach or Sherman... we have no idea... Just like we have no idea the same about Lazor... At least Lazor has a little more experience then our QB coach and Sherman wasn't his mentor...

Although this is not what you said, I don't want anyone to think I am criticizing Philbin which I promised not to do for 10 days.
I am just saying that it is pretty stupid way of doing things like you say.
It does say that Philbin's job will be safe under the new GM probably. Which in turn, will make it hard for us to get a good GM as opposed to a desperate one WILLING TO TAKE THE JOB UNDER ANY CONDITIONS.
This is a criticism of Ross. His ownership sucks in every possible way you can look at it.
Lazor said last year I was part of an offense that had the leagues leading rusher and QB with the highest QB rating in football.. Next year I would like to lead the league in offensive scoring plays....said live on the air with Jesse....
He also said he likes a QB with accuracy, and the ability to make decisions...

That's what I've been saying, Chryen; the "name guys" won't want to go to Miami because of how Ross is handling the whole thing. Gamble was also turned off because of the "power" structure.
