How's this for talent assessment...???

The highest rated guard (BY FAR) in the league is Evan Mathis. He was in Miami (7 games) in 2008 and was cut by Bill Parcels. He played LG.

Same mistake Wanny made with Wade Smith back in 2003.

A couple teams let Mathis go. The Eagles didn't even plan to start him until injuries forced them to.

what that tells me is that the guys at profootball focus are smarter than HOFer Bill Parcells.

you'd think with this earth shattering grading system they'd be employing their moneyball approach in an NFL front office instead of at nerd central grading every snap of every player with some convoluted formula.

Stupid Parcells!

Actually 1/3 of NFL teams now utilize Profootballfocus. The announcers even said as much during the game last week.

...and we all know Parcels could be considered a magician for his incredible work in Miami.

Especially for making our chances of succeeding disappear with the wave of his hand.

Stats and numbers aren't really a reliable measure of individual player performance for the sport of professional football. The reason being is that an individual performance is quite biased by personnel on the field both team and opposing team as well as coaching decisions and strategy. I don't see that PFF has methodology in place to reduce these sort of biases and therefore I question it's application towards useful player evaluation.

For example in a microcosm...Lamar Miller might be a much better RB than which he now appears, but due to the team's Offensive lines issues in the first half of the season his numbers would place him in the bottom half of RB's according to other league RB's performance this season.

Still I think it's a fun tool to use as a fan and as a quick reference for players and a rough guide toward how the players are doing in the current season.

Jones has been looking better, but odd a guy off the street can make 2 huge plays that the other guys have not made for weeks.

Micheal Thomas came in the game for Brent Grimes. Thomas is a S that was forced to play corner and came up huge. The guy definitely has some potential.

My second Alltime favorite Miami Player. I make it over to Tap his ROH sign every game. 3rd best in NFL history, we probably won't see it again. Zach wasn't all instinct either. He spent more time watching film then any other player. he always knew where the ball was going and reacted a fraction of a second quicker because of it.

They have a great 15 second clip of him at the stadium now psyching up the Fans. he says......Its their Time now! Lets hear it Miami!
God this team needs to get him back in the locker room in some capacity.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Maybe he needs to teach Ellerbe and Wheeler how to prepare.

Ellerbe and Wheeler will kill next year when we get the secondary healthy. They are playing big roles in the passing defende too. Those guys have a lot of thinking going on this year. Misi to me is producing the least on defense.

Lol mizz.. I wish our lbers would kill next year. Truth is they take bad angles and poor tackling. Wheeler is god awful at everything.

Sickofit, I'm disappointed in their tackling after a running back gets pass the defensive line.

Yep, we have solid pass rushers on our d-line, but no good with containin rbs which blow by our lbers for 6,7,8 yards before our safties and cha tackle them.

Koa Misi didn't get benched last week. Phillip Wheeler did.
