OK guys, anyone with any expertise, I would like to hear from you.

Can either of these players be cut? If they are, what happens with the contracts?

Because this could be an HR issue or a personal conduct infraction, what can the Fins do to get out of this?

Both players were on the roster as of the first day of the regular season so their salaries for this year are guaranteed.

Incognito's contract is over after this season. We can cut him, and pay him. Or we can suspend him and not pay him and have him file a grievance to get the money later. It really boils down to what the NFL investigation turns up, but Incognito is almost assuredly never playing for this team again. He was gone after this year any way so I'm not sure how big a deal it is.

Martin's situation is different. He has two years left at $825k and 1.04M. You can cut him and not pay that but you would have $960k in dead cap space next year for his signing bonus. Now Miami can go after that money and get it back since he's not showing up for work. They can even pursue damages like the other half of the signing bonus as they did with Ricky Williams. What they do with martin also entirely depends on the results of the NFL investigation.

i think re incognito the cba says you can only be suspended for 4 games, then you need to be reinstated or cut. I don't think it's an option for them to ignore that, although maybe they could if he paid him what he's owed under the contract

They should both be gone.

Incognito for getting in trouble...Martin for being soft and being a cry baby.
