If it wasnt joking around or the way they talk to each other commonly in the locker room... Then all Martin would have had to do was play that message for some other guys on the team and they would have beat Ritchies ass... If Richie was known for joking around like this, then they would have blown it off... Saying you know Richie is just playing being Richie.... I think Martin is just trying to spin being a pussy and abandoning his team......

I think the other guys on the team would wait to see Martin stand up for himself and he did it his way. I think Martin and Incog are finished. What I cannot understand is why is Incog still harassing the guy and I say harrasing he is not a rookie anymore.

Few people are that psychotic and stupid that they would openly threaten someone on tape for no reason.

I think we all have friends who have said similarly outrageous or offensive things to us as a joke.

In that context, that voice mail, while over the top, makes some sense.

The more I hear of this the more it sounds do like incognito was busting balls and Martin was overly sensitive about it. Now he's trying to justify his walking out on the 51 teammates he didn't have a problem with.

Or maybe they should do their jobs and stop with the silliness. Act like high paid professionals and stop the schoolyard BS.

None of them are so good they can afford to get so distracted.

This is great! It takes my mind off of the fact that the team sucks right now. I'd also like to see new leadership in management, so this is a good start.

As for this latest "news", it's very interesting. As for bullying and hazing, I feel it should be banned, but I view that as a separate issue from the Martin/Incognito case.

IF this is true about "alleged" drug use, mental issues and suicide attempts, then we're in for some "edge-of-your-seat" entertainment. Imagine being Harvard educated lawyers, and your son has problems. That wouldn't reflect too highly on you as parents, would it? But, if you have "proof" of harassment (which could be a message full of friendly banter taken out of context), you could make your son look like a victim and collect a big settlement. If your son has mental issues, a well educated parent should have no problem manipulating that son into believing that someone else is responsible for his problems. Politicians that have kids with problems do this and/or cover up those problems all of the time.

I for one hope this goes all out, and stays public. I'd like to stay objective and NOT jump to conclusions before I hear all of the evidence, so I hope that Incognito's side makes these accusations public (if true) and someone in authority does order drug tests and whatever else is necessary to find out the truth. Many male-dominated workplaces features talk that "sensitive" people would find highly offensive. I hear this talk at work (prison) constantly, and never once have I felt physically threatened or offended. IMO, verbal, good-natured joking can be taken WAY over the line but still be harmless and fun. BTW, in prison and on the street, African-Americans call each other the N-word with no repercussions at all. Verbal joking between co-workers or friends (no matter how offensive it may seem to an outsider) is nothing like actual bullying and hazing, and needs to be looked at as a separate issue. As for Pouncey's involvement and alleged drug use, the fact that he defends (and befriends) Aaron Hernandez is an indicator of what type of person he really is.

On the other hand, if a friend or co-worker has mental issues, then it's best to take it easy on the joking around, as it may be misconstrued. First this was an issue of Martin can't hack being in the NFL, then it's about Incognito being at fault, and now we learn that it could go in another direction entirely! This could be a season-ending, team-exploding blow-up, or it could be nothing more than a simple misunderstanding on each side not even worthy of the media (although that never stopped the media before).

Just like a favorite TV show, I can't wait to see what happens next!

Again I'll say, if Philbin isn't responsible for a crappy o line, if he isn't responsible for playcalls, and now everyone says that it's Ireland's fault for drafting these players then what the hell IS EXACTLY PHILBIN'S JOB.
