Contenders don't lose games like this after a bye, against a division opponent, at home, and against a practice squad QB making his second start. Nope, this is a very flawed team both in terms of player talent and coaching. I held onto hope as long as I could but losing this one proves that this team will be overachieving if they go .500. No playoffs again. I can only imagine how empty the stadium will be for the next home game and you know what? They deserve it. From Ross to Ireland to Philbin, to Sherman to Coyle, to every one of the underachieving, overpaid players. They deserve it.

Bingo, typical Dolphins of the last 10 years. Win at home against a 3rd string QB and we are 4-2 and tied for the lead...Instead all that is left to look forward to is KC and Denver losing...damn.

There was a post on this board concerning fan attendance at games, and there was much heated debate.

I's sure we all saw a lot of orange in the stadium today (and I'm not talking about fans wearing orange jerseys/shirts). I'm talking about the orange seats where there were no fannies in them.

We all saw the Fins vs Bills game, also.

Can there be any further discussion as to why the stadium is not selling out? Who the hell wants to pay the big bucks to watch continuous losing? I have the Sunday Ticket, but only because I just signed up with DirecTV a few months ago, so it's free. I would definitely NOT pay for the Ticket to watch our guys lose.

Money is a major issue these days, folks, and if an organization is unable to produce a winner, they won't have a paying audience. That's just the way it is!

No offense, dolphin, but you need to get over that.

There are so many glaring problems on this team and you decide to focus on Tanneyhill.

I guess I will just never understand your thinking in that regard.

The reality is that the season was lost when that mental patient of a GM decided to go with Clabo, Jerry, Incognito, Martin, and Pouncey as our offensive line. Quite probably the worst offensive line I've ever seen wear Fins uniforms. That falls squarely at the incompetent feet of Jeff Ireland. If he thought that this collection of stiffs had the talent to even be an average NFL offensive line, then he's even dumber than he looks. On top of it, Dion Jordan may turn out to be a great player, some day, but spending high two draft choices on a defensive end when you have an historically bad offensive line who will be blocking for a young QB who has a nasty habit of holding onto the ball too damn long, it's a recipe for being beaten by a 3rd string practice squad QB named Thaddeus. I will never root for any other team, period, but my enthusiasm for this organization will be seriously damaged if Ireland is still in charge next year. That would be an indication that Ross isn't serious about bringing a contender to Miami and if he doesn't care, why should I?

I wonder if those a-holes sit around a table and spin a roulette wheel to see who they can put in the spots?

That's two years in a row that he has left us with a glaring weakness. Last year it was at CB and WR.

This year it's OL.

It was difficult for most of us to look at our starting line and be able to tell if they were adequate. We had questions about Martin but most of us thought we would be fine with Clabo, a recent pro bowler.

The difference is....it's Irelands job to know those things.

If Martin has what it takes....

If Clabo has anything left...

If Jerry is even good enough to start...

It has been a failure up to this point and it falls on Ireland AND Philbin because it's not like he didn't have input on those players. Ultimately it is Ireland's responsibility. I am quickly losing faith in JP as well.

The blame also falls on the coaching staff for taking a great rush defense and turning them into swiss cheese.

no offense taken captkoi. I have to ask though, do you actually watch the games?

Tannehill cannot throw accurate deep ball

He decides where to throw the ball BEFORE the snap.

He locks onto his receivers.

He doesnt have head on swivel looking for open player, he decides where to throw before the play.

He has no pocket awarness.

I tape the games and go back and watch each pass, it is sad, of course you can see it too if you watch the play.

You know dolphin, you and I both opposed the drafting of Tannehill but I got over it when he was chosen and you have not.

Just let me say that it does not appear to me that Tannehill holds onto the ball too long. It appears that he doesn't hold it LONG ENOUGH FOR OUR OFFENSIVE LINE but that's only a micro-second.

It seems to me that when it is Tom Brady, it's "one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four, one thousand five, PASS."

With Tannehill, it's "one thousand one, one thousand two, SACK!!!"

Rushers get through faster than someone entering a theater with a ticket AND WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF HIM NO LESS...at least that guy has to wait for the usher to take his ticket.

Yes, I watch the games. Luckily (or not) I signed up with DirecTV and am getting NFL Sunday Ticket free.

At the moment, I agree, RT doesn't throw an accurate deep ball.

I don't necessarily agree that he has decided where to throw the ball before the snap.

Not 100% of the time, but he does go through his progressions.

By going through his progressions, his head is on a swivel, unless you are talking about having eyes in the back and side of his head for the pass rush.

He does have to work on his pocket awareness.

RT is a work in progress, dolphin, and we must all admit he has improved in just about every phase of his game. Hard to really develop as a QB when, as has been noted on this board, he has only 2.4 seconds to get rid of the ball. Quite often, he doesn't even have that kind of time. If RT kept his head on a swivel (for pass rushers) he couldn't complete one pass, as he would be too busy looking to where the pass rush is coming from and trying to avoid it.

Miami has good, not great, running backs, but they have done very little this season. Miller, at times, does manage to break through the first wave, but somehow either loses his balance or gets tripped up at the last second, preventing a long, long gain.

What is the connection between these two phases of the game? Correct - the OFFENSIVE line. Get this area fixed, and we will see much improvement in our offensive output, probably allowing the team to win their games.

Oh, and we need the receivers to catch the ball.

Why should you? Because you are a Dolphins fan.

I have supported this team forever and will never give up on them. I am as discouraged by their play as everyone else is, but give up on my team? Never! I was so disgusted by Miami's play vs the Bills in the first quarter that I did some things I have never done (even in my younger days) - I got on this board and vented. I never do that until the next day. Also, I actually went and did some other things while the game was still on. I also never do that. I did sit back down somewhere in the 2nd quarter when they finally settled down and started playing better.

But, give up? Nope.angry smiley
