How much has the Miami Dolphins spent /devoted to O lineman over the last decade? Yet gave very little thought to the QB position or recievers/tightends.
Now we are elite at those positions in such a short period of time however its the Oline that blows like Hurricane Katrina.

even more Ironic is both of the HC under Ireland are both ex Oline coaches, who should know how to evaluate and coach that specific position best...

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

It's NOT ironic. It's a sure fire way to continue to lose.
We have not solved the OL riddle in what seems like a quarter century. And the "irony" is -- ALL the top NFL teams always have very good to excellent OLs.
I mean. Who would know?
Certainly NOT Ireland.
The OL is like a bathmat to this regime.
I guess they think they're building "mental toughness" and "physical scar tissue" in Thill in order to make him a better cripple?
It's like -- "don't run kid -- take all your punishment in the pocket
collapsing around you" as your femur pops out of the skin mid-thigh.
We always hear about the 'IT' that a QB has (or hasn't got) and how hard it is to see until he starts playing in the NFL. IMO the Oline is a lot like this. There is an 'IT' that is even harder to see because it pertains to the unit as a whole and not so much the individual players.
Look at the superbowl winners of the last 10 years. You can count the #1 OLine draft picks on one hand. And it will take a couple of hands to count guys that were low round picks (5 and below) or even undrafted.
It's still a mystery why we can't seem to do any better than we have for the last decade plus. Especially considering all the OLine 'guru's' we have supposedly had in that period. I still say some of it was poor QB play which amplifies poor line play. Or maybe the 'Guru's' were just plain lucky in their previous jobs like Seattle was with Russel Wilson or NE was with that QB drafted in the 6th round...what was his name???
and I think the zone blocking scheme takes time to get the right guys. Look at Houston. they were horrible before they found the right guys and they are one of the best now...pass blocking and run blocking.
In all fairness this regime has only had a short time to try and develop what Ireland puts in front of them and so far his lineman judgement has been flawed at best. He definitely got lucky with Pouncey.
