....for a reason. They traded for Eugene Monroe to replace him because he is terrible. Lazy lineman who stops playing after he gets paid. He would rather go on the party bus with bottle swinging strippers.
Chiefs are looking for a 2014-2nd round pick for Brandon Albert. We would be better off doing this than wasting another 2nd rounder (J-Martin) on a rookie who may never pan out.
Put him at LT, cut Clabo, move Martin to RT or the bench and put Garner at RT. Then start doing something with Danny Watkins or looking for a RG. Just hoping things are going to get better isn't working.
I live in the Baltimore area, Mckinney is well liked by his teammates and the public here. He was a big part of the reason they won the Super bowl. He is 35 and has a habit of slacking in practice and saves himself for game day. The coaches hate it but his teammates are ok w/ it. W/ that he would not fit in our zone blocking scheme that our coaches have such a re hard on for.Plus he is getting long in the tooth.
Guy is certainly more accoomplished than either one of our tackles.

I don't know about "everyone"...He was one of my most sought after players. Are you talking about as a FA in 2014 because he hasn't been a FA yet?
He is probably better injured than either one of our tackles at 100%.
The trade is probably not a viable option at this point anyway since Fisher is struggling and injured as well.
On a side note...does anyone else think it's funny that KC and Andy Reid played all NFC East teams 3 out of the first 4 weeks and beat them all?
Its worth a look under the Hood to see what he still has. Sign him for 1 yr. Maybe this will fire him up to play out the rest of the season and go out on a high note. Respect means a lot to these guys.
Correct Albert was not a FA but was available for trade. Everyone is being very definitive but their was a lot of flack on tis board about why we shouldnt bring him in. He certainly would have been better than our current RT.

Yes. But he wants $9m a year and they want a 2nd round pick. Thanks, but no thanks.
Good points. We can't overpay for a player and not get that value back. That's why I like the Bryant McKinley thing if it happens. Very low risk and possible High gain.
What do you guys that want McKinnie want to do? Play him on the right side and bench Clabo? Play him on the left side and bench Martin? Move Martin to the right side?
Martin at LT is not the main problem IMO, it's Clabo and Jerry on the right side, moving Martin to the right side in mid season doesn't help. Martin has made mistakes at LT, but we knew that would be the case coming in, what we didn't think would happen, is Clabo stinking up the joint.
I would let Martin sink or swim this year, if he doesn't improve, we get an upgrade at LT next year (draft, FA?) to go along with a whole new right side (that could mean keeping Incog and moving him to RG and upgrading the LG spot also).
Now, if Martin was the only/main problem, then by all means, bring McKinnie in and bench Martin, but MArtin could still turn out to be a good LT, benching him this early could be a huge mistake for the future.

Doubt the Ravens would trade for Monroe if McKinnie was playing at a PB level, so would I rather trade for an un-motivated Bryant McKinnie for a one year rental (3/4 of a year really) or try to develop our 2nd rnd pick of a year ago and see what we actually got? I'll take the second option........unless the coaches are sure that Martin makes a better RT and plan on moving him there next year anyway

I don't think the latter is likely because he struggled mightily at RT when Jake Long was still here.
Maybe that was just being a rookie but he played LT at Stanford with Andrew Luck and was All American at that position.

Agreed, but maybe the coaches see something we don't?
40 minutes to Kick off. I hope that Oline is gathered and someone is telling them to play their asses off and earn some respect. I know Iggy is. That boy will block his ass off today.
