2 missed FG's from the idiot kicker and we're a playoff team last year, yet Florio only has this team at #23. While they still have to prove it and our long suffering fan base is in the same "prove it to me" mode, I absolutely disagree with this ranking. I believe this team to be top 16 and a playoff caliber team. Hopefully we can prove Florio and all the Pats media lovers wrong.

Its funny. I really don't care about power rankings.

They are like lists of who different people think are the hottest women around...you are going to get different opinions based on personal preferences.

And pre-season power rankings are even dumber.

I just think its funny when a team that seems to have substantially improved its overall talent from a year ago and has a young QB who should get better with experience, gets ranked LOWER than where they finished last year.

Yeah 20 would have made more sense, but with so many starters from last year being gone and new guys filling the roles, I can see why last years team isnt a great reflection of how to rank us this year at this point...
Who knows, I would surely hope we are better then 20. But who cares, I like to prove it anyways, as you said truth, offseason power rankings are kind of bogus..

We got 2 Monday Night Football games for a reason. They know we are on the way up and will get ratings. I laugh at these ratings. We were Number 31 by many at this time last year. We finished almost in the Top 20. I see us in the Top 10 at least by the end of the season picking in the low-mid 20's in next years draft.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I wonder what ranking Vegas has us at? Anybody have where our odds ranks against the rest of the NFL at this point in the offseason...

Last I saw we were 40-1, which puts us around 17th or 18th

That sounds about right, I would much rather go with the vegas handicappers then PFT that is for sure....

I was just out there, I know they had our O/U wins at 7.5 again, I'm pretty sure we can muster up 8 wins, no?

Truth what do you mean no respect?

We were terrible last year.....Its going to be like that until we earn it.

This years team have not proven a thing...Other than signing a couple of good players.

Until we prove that we can make the playoffs consistently its going to be like that.

Agreed..I like to hear when we are ranked low though. But I never ever read articles like that.

Well there could be a difference there for me. If those lists had pictures of the women, then they'd be worth looking at.

Agreed Samsam, but at the same time, I also agree with Truth in that it is rare to see Miami get any respect from anywhere. Hell, the only undefeated team in NFL history doesn't get respect. Shula's most NFL wins doesn't get respect; Csonka being one of the most powerful backs in NFL history gets no respect; Marino, because he never got a Super Bowl ring gets no respect, etc. Where the hell is Rodney Dangerfield when you need him?

Based on Miami's performance over the last 10 years or so, I don't predict anything for them; I don't care is the team is full of All Pros. As you said Sam, show me on the field. When the season is over, then I will pay attention, but even then, I want to see it done on a consistent basis, not just one season in every blue moon.

I "expect" good things from the Fins this year, but based on past performance, I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Sam, I agree that we need to earn respect on the field but I disagree that we were "terrible" last year.

We were 7-9, not 4-12. And we were two extremely makeable FG's away from being 9-7.

Not of they don't learn to cover a TE....

13 catches, 177 yards, and 2 TDs over the last two weeks (Fleener and Jordan) and they are not even elite.

Not good when you have Tony Gonzales coming to town and then have to go face the best in the NFL in Jimmy Graham.

Take away the 177 yards (from two TE's) and we go from 18th ranked pass defense to #3. That would be good for a #6 ranking overall.

Then we have Gronk twice, Tyler Eifert and Jermaine Gresham, Antonio Gates, Greg Olson, Kellen Winslow (twice) and Heath Miller.

Eesti thats the same thing the colts are saying about our tend forgot his name. Everyone in the nfl has a chance of having a couple of good games.

Charles clay it is.......it wasnt expected for him to come out playing like that.

All is needed is a great qb and he will make everyone look great.

I want to think we have something special in the real deal.

it is kind of a slight of hand, respect, still.... There are only 7 undefeated teams... We beat the Colts and Atlanta with a 24.7 pts per game avg, who did NEw England beat? the Bucs, Jets and Bills.... With a pt avg of 19ts per game... BS IMO...
