It looks like he's got a rod partially sticking up on his right shoulder? Weird bump over some obvious scar tissue. I thought they used rivets.

For ours and Irelands sake, this guy had better be as good or better than any of the other draft picks this year. Ireland had his choice with the exception of Lane Johnson and Joeckel.

He should be a disruptive force....and we need to hit on at least one more PB type player from the draft....Will Davis or Taylor. I'm hoping for 4....including Sims.

If Ireland's history is any indicator it will be the second of the two CB's so that means Davis.

He says he is feeling good....But you know how it is. All these players want to be on the field.

eesti the only thing that can slow him down is that shoulder injury. This guy looks to be a steal even at the 3rd spot in the first round.

Hold on a second... please. How can the guy be a "steal" in R1 pick3???

And just for some semblance of reality -- he has proven absolutely ZERO in a legit game.

Maybe he turns out to be a player -- but it's impossible to ever categorize him as steal IMO.

The 2013 first round rookie pass rushers....

Dion Jordan...Missed most of camp and several PS games bc of shoulder injury.

Ziggy Ansah...leg injury then concussion. Team not commenting.

Bjoern Werner...Knee injury...missed time.

Barkevious Mingo....taken to hospital for bruised lung

Jarvis Jones....taken to hospital for chest injury

Datone Jones...sprained ankle on first snap of 1st PS game...it would be the only snap he played until last weeks Seattle game where he reinjured the ankle on Wednesday (at practice) before the game but still played.

Every one has been injured and some seriously. Let's hope Dion breaks that trend!

It's obvious Jordan is a deluxe athlete and I noted a mean-streak in his play that will make a HUGE difference in his overall production / impact.

But the kid has got to get on the field and prove the shoulder injury is in the past... If he's NOT totally ready for hard-core action on that shoulder then we'd be wiser to let it ride...

bnf WROTE: Hold on a second... please. How can the guy be a "steal" in R1 pick3???

I meant when he turns out how i believe he can turn out as a player he will be a third pick steal.

Meaning he should had gone 1st overall...Note the first overall pick was struggling there i saw.

The sky is the limit for him...And the only thing that can set him back is that shoulder injury.

I saw him a few plays and this guy has a mean streak and doesnt take plays off....And is real quick for his size 6'6 or 6'7 i believe.....Needs to put on a few pound but JT played at about his weight.

We are a good defense and we can win without him right now but i think the takes this defense to the next level on the other side of wake....

Imagine having another rusher like wake......where is brady going to hide?

BNF- do you think Matt Ryan could be considered a steal at #3 in the 2008 draft? I 100 percent understand what you are saying and mostly agree but it got me thinking... If the #3 pick in the draft winds up being better then the first 2 picks, can he be considered a steal at that point... I would lean towards saying yes....

Ultimately we're going to enter semantic territory and that's highly subjective and essentially opinion based in my opinion…

Nonetheless, I don’t think there's a clear-cut answer -- though Dan Marino was certainly a latter 1st-round "steal." Montana in R3 was pretty good too. I don’t include the Lady because I only consider males in this particular equation.

BNF.

Would you two agree that a first pick overall can be considered a steal as well...?

Can you consider John Elways as steal He was a first pick overall..

or payton manning?

What do you think....?

Is this possible? Just wondering what you two think.

I see you dont agree BNF.....And yes this is all based in ones opinion.

Definetely not an exact science.

Like for example the argument of whos better john elways or dan marino.

People can argue about it without anyone been wrong. They can come to conclusions of elways who won a superbowl or marino who had all the records.

But at the end not an exact science.

Disagreeing is a good thing...It would be a boring board if everybody agreed on everything.

Dan Marino at his BEST was definitively THE BEST QB (Passing era dominant) in the history of NFL history. Hands down. Not even close.

Elway was a "pitcher" playing QB - and obviously a terrific athlete -- but Elway could ONLY THROW to "open spots" and not make the consistent "OMG that dude was covered but Marino still found a way to beat the DB." Marino redefined the essential possibilities of the game!

Like I said. Marino at HIS BEST is easily the greatest, most dominant NFL passer ever. Dan was about as close as it gets to being a one man team in the NFL.

I agree, it is a bit of semantics, there is not really a clear cut answer... It can be justified one way or another with examples on both sides of the line in the sand...

If marino and elways were both playing on sunday.................and i knew they were both going to be on fire.....i would definetely put my money on marino.

He made many of my sundays so enjoyable to watch the phins play.

might be a good idea to use him at the LB position like they used JT...........vernon is playing so well i would leave him where he is.

I like koa...........but dion jordan will be an upgrade over him imo

At least i wanna believe that jordan might be an upgrade over koa....I know it remains to be seen if jordan will even make an impact because of the injury.

When JT played LB it was in a 3-4. I hope they use Jordan as Von Miller is used in Denver. He is the strong side LBer in a 4-3 and rushes the QB a lot.

Any time you 1) get the best player in the draft, except at number 1, and

2_ you don't give up your whole draft for him like Ditka did for Ricky Williams, and

3) he turns out to be a perennial all pro or even a hall of famer, (yes, if Dion comes close to being better than Jason Taylor he will be a hall of famer)

..................then you can call it a "steal".

How can you say you saw a mean streak in Jordan when he played like 5 plays in the off season?

I hope he turns out to be a legend, but legends have to play at some point and time.

This defense could be fun to watch.

Can't wait to see how they use him on defense. As a LB or situational DE pass rusher????

As of right now we drafted a special teams player 3rd overall. I do not like them using him on coverage units. If he gets hurt, Philbin will never hear the end of it.

I don't know if I saw anything that would indicate a mean streak, but he did flash absurd athleticism. The kid of athletic agility and speed that would make Jason Taylor say: "Damn. I wish I could do that."

He has unlimited potential. But lots of guys have had great potential and been out of the league in a few years.

If he comes anywhere close to reaching his ability he's going to be a star.

I was pretty impressed. For the VERY limited practice and snaps he still managed to make his presence felt. That's a good sign.
