Its a nice gesture , But he is SOOOOO hard up to get people to like him. I remember his face when JT was getting recognition before his last game , people booed him. He was really Sad. Getting up in front of that stadium was a big deal for him. Heizinga made much worse decisions and never got such a bad Rap. He was smart and stayed out of Football operations 100%.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Obviously he planned to do this at some point. But to have a very public dispute over not getting tax payers money to renovate his stadium and then announce he is giving away 2 billion dollars. WHile the last few days his CEO of the Dolphins has been on an attack campaign over his loss in the issues of receiving public funds for his private stadium.. To say it is a bit odd is an understatement.. He will give his money away but not renovate the stadium... Odd... The fact that the story of his donation includes the story of the legislature debacle tells a lot about the timing of the announcement..

But TCPF, is this gesture going to get Dolphin fans to like him more than paying for the whole stadium upgrade, and locking the Phins into S.Florida for another 30 years would?

He could have gotten maximum impact in that regard for 1.5th the price, assuming that is why he's giving the money to charity.

I think he's a 73 year old guy who decided Warren Buffet had a point. I don't think it has anything to do with this stadium deal or an attempt to get people in Miami to like him.

That is a good point. Instead of giving away 2 Billion , Just pay for all the renovations yourself for $400 million. Then give the stadium away when you kick bucket. Its odd that you pledge 2 billion when your dead but can't go for$400 million while your alive and kicking. Strange.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

That's why the two have nothing to do with each other.
