Does or should this points scale be modified based on the talent pool of the draft year?
- Seems like it wouldn't if its intended to be a trading guide
- Yet it seems like it should if you have a low talent year (like this one) for top value prospects like QBs in a particular year.

Value is subjective. I suggested using the draft value chart as a neutral assessment of value. This way nobody has us trading up to #3 with Oakland for our 3rd round pick just because they are stupid.

I like it except we still have a big ? at the most pressing need. Would this mock involve signing a RT in FA?
Question: Are we mocking what we think will happen or what we would do if GM?
If Eifert is our guy, I doubt we risk trading back 4 spots, and hope he is still available... but who knows...
it will take me a little time to put my 7 rd mock together, will try when I have a bit more time to hash it out... But Eifert and Elam would be my first 2 picks...pick 54 would be a tackle...
ps- Florida state kickers scare me....

Unless we get up into the top 6 and get one of the top LT's we are coming out of this draft with a "?" at LT. I think either Jones or Fragel can play RT (and maybe LT eventually). Even so, if the draft went like this it wouldn't hurt to sign a RT for a year to give them time to develop.

I'm hesitant to ask people to predict what Jeff Ireland will do.
So lets go with what you think is the best route to take and in the end we'll see who thinks like Ireland the most.

That could well be true, but I had a back up plan in mind when I made that move.
I think the risk in making that trade is someone like Chicago or the Giants jumping ahead of us, I'm not all that concerned with Tampa, Carolina or New Orleans taking him.

Do you honestly think Elam lasts to #42?
> ps- Florida state kickers scare me....
I would have gone with Sturgis but I think he'll be gone by then. frankly, so will Hopkins...but one can hope.
You never know with Ireland...Remember when we lost our NT, Ferguson, and everybody had us taking the NT from Tennessee in the first rd, Because NT was this huge obvious glaring hole, and the Tennessee player seemed to fit the spot...
We didnt address the issue in the draft, and post draft Ireland announce that Starks would be moved to the position and him and SOlia would handle it.... Maybe that is the case, again this year with the LT.. FOr all we know, maybe WIll Yeatman has come a long, and will play opposite Martin... I am obviously just speculating, but with Ireland you never know, he could have it all figured out and is loving all of this speculation and assumption all draft we have to address the tackle need, when he already has.... Either that or we trade up and take one of the 3...lol..

Truth- No I would trade up to around 27 to take Elam. I think you need to get ahead of Baltimore... Elam replacing Ed Reed in Balt, is a perfect fit...

I am going to have to fight off wearing my Channing Crowder UF sunglasses, because I like too many Gators this year and a couple of them fit real well in the 4-6 rds as well.....lol

I knew we should have done this without trades...
Couple of things for clarification:
What are we getting in your trade scenarios? And just as importantly, why are NO, DAL, and CIN trading up?
How do we get the 3rd #2?
Which pick are you trading for Albert?
Do you really think Eifert falls to 21 (past the Giants and Bears)?
3rd 2 is via the #12 trade down, could pick up a third also depending on who it is and the points schedule
54 is rumored for Albert. if we make this deal, we likely won't go OL in early rounds. If we don't, we could snag menelik Watson at 42 or Armstead or Long at 54
Bears need OL help Giants, need a lot also. Good question if Eifert drops. Have seen him anywhere from 12 to 30 or 31 I think
Should be there at 15, 18 & 21 could be risky. I think teams are looking to move up for Vaccaro,Tavon Austin and a few others that will drop. There are always a few that drop unexpectedly
if Hayden is gone we look at Banks who was top 15 at one time. CB crop is pretty deep, also Slay, Poyer, Taylor, Amerson, Wreh-Wilson. have seen different mocks with different rankings for them, and Hayden does have some health risk
