has there ever been a year where 1 week out we had NO idea who the phins would take in the 1st? I am having trouble even narrowing it down to 3 names. It could be anyone.

Is that because we might trade up or down or are you just having a hard time coming up with 3 names at #12?
the trade aspects is part of it. But look at our needs.
CB---no one worth taking at 12, can't see us taking Rhodes or Trufant or one of the others, but it is a possibility
OT--ditto, unless we trade up or somoene suprising falls.
WR---can't see us taking Austin at 12
OG--I could see Cooper but he may not be there. I am actually now thinking we should take him if there.
DT--not a need but could take Star or Richardson if they fall (it is just as likely that both are there at 12, as it is neither are).
DE--Ansah? he could go in the top 5 or after 15. He is a possible.
There's just 5 or so names, any of which are equally likely.
Years past, there was also 2-3 names who you could be pretty sure would be the pick (and then Ireland would do something dumb like trade for Odrick and Misi, but that's another story).

If you take out the guys most often ticketed for the top ten there are really only 4 possibilities for us at #12.
#1 - Lane Johnson (and there is very little chance of him falling to #12)
#2 - Johnathan Cooper (Maybe a 50/50) chance of him being there.
#3 - Tyler Eifert (pretty sure he'll be there)
#4 - a DT like Richardson or Loutelelei.
the 5th option would be if a guy like Miliner falls for some medical reason or some other strange reason. But that's not something you can count on, you just adust on the fly if it happens.
So take out option #1 since its highly unlikely Johnson drops past 7 let alone past 10 and 11.
Like wise option #5 since you can't predict who will fall unexpectedly or how far.
That leaves you: Cooper, Eifert and Loutelelei/Richardson.
Probably in that order.

LOL...now I know its a good pick.
You were killing me 3 months ago about Eric Fisher and Dion Jordan...
I really didn't have any time to spend on this this year so I went the maximum gamble route.
Lets just say I bought into the idea that its a QB league. Its a draft without impact players at the top. If I'm a GM without a QB, would I rather miss on a QB or miss on another position?
Honestly, I usually look at what the other teams need. This year I didn't bother. Just winged it. I'll either have the best or worst mock out there...no in between.
Well, you're all better than me cause I couldn't even possibly pick what Miami is gonna do, let alone all 31 other teams or even what KC is gonna do at no. 1, although I've heard Luke's name mentioned the most for them.
1. Kansas City - Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M, LT
