That is not a bad deal, but I want Quality over quantity this year.. I would rather trade up then trade back...

I don't think this is the draft for quality over quantity. Just not a lot of blue chippers at the top.
Could be that Austin is the hot prospect everyone wants in the mid teens.
Could be a good deal.
There's a whole bunch of DT's, DE's, CB's, S, WR's that will be available in that range that are going to be pretty close to the level of talent of most of the guys we would consider at #12.

I'd do the deal. I can't think of anyone I'd really really want to take at 12 who realisticly would be there

If we can get Lane Johnson or Chance Warmack by staying put or trading up a couple picks with one of our thirds. I would much rather do that then, trade back and take a 2nd or third tier linemen or pass rusher...

I just want to make sure we have a LT this year... If Ireland has a rabbit he can pull out of his hat to solidify the oline I am all for it..
If that is the case I would personally take Patterson at 12, even Eifert possibly.. I think Austin is to small to be a dependable choice at 12...
Warmack is special, many people have him rated as the top guy.. If he is going to be a probowl guard next to Pouncey with Incognito on the other side, that would be the best interior in football. Opposing LB's and safeties would be pigeon holed into making sure they protect the middle of the field on play action all day... They would almost always have to bite..
We have some receivers now, so if the line is solid, RT has no excuses for not being what so many believe him to be.. I want to see that...
I am basing this analysis on the probability we sign Grimes to solidify the CB position predraft...

Warmack worries me.
I think he has the potential to get too big for our blocking scheme. I think Cooper is a better fit for us after watching his film.
But I agree crowder. If Johnson is there you run to the podium.
If he's not it looks like it could boil down to taking Austin, an OG, or auctioning off Austin to the highest bidder.

If Jonathan Martin puts on 20 pounds of muscle then I agree..
I do agree that we could get a decent RT in the 2nd or 3rd...
It does concern me that if Martin does not get stronger and he is our best tackle on the roster.....

if we moved up that high we'd take millner
sorry but I don't see trading up (esp 2 draft picks) to take yet another OL in the first round. not happening.
