We are not allowed to talk to Wallace or Bowe or Jennings, why should KC be allowed to talk to Smith before the appropriate date... The NFL definetely thinks it matters and have dont just that forced the tampering team to give up and or trade picks with the team that had their player tampered with before the deadline...

Everybody talks to everybody at the combine.

I'm sure we stalked to Wallace's agent and let him know we are interested.

The NFL should just let change the deadline. Give the teams two weeks from the end of the super bowl...then let players talk to whomever.

Yes its a breach of the current rules. But the rule needs to be changed.

Its like the speed limit when it was 55mph. Everybody ignored it. So most highways raised it to 65...some even higher.

I think the intention of the rule is good, to allow teams time to sign their own players.. If some other team is saying dont sign we will give u more money, then it brings into question, the intention of the rule.. To give teams a time without others tampering with negotiations to sign their own players... If teams break the rules and effect negotiations that is a bad... and they should be punished especially if they are stupid enough to tell a friend on another team who tweets about it...
I like Sean Smith's agent Dave Canter, and I think he is normally a good agent and cool guy, but his client was extremely foolish...

Sure lots of things happen all the time, we live in a world of sports that if you aren't cheating, you are not trying hard enough.. That doesn't change that it is still against the rules and a precedence has been set for teams giving up draft picks for just that... Is Vontae's I was hacked defense really going to hold up... If anything it proves guilt by that response... If he said It was a just a conversation between friend Brandon flowers and Sean smith, I could understand.. But I was hacked so I really didn't say Sean Smith has been talking with the Chiefs.. It will be interesting how the league handles it..
Lots of players take HGH does that mean it is ok when one of them get caught to say they shouldn't get punished because others do it as well... Not a strong position IMO...

I agree with you, Truth, that the timeline should be changed. However, the NFL is thinking of doing just that....but they would be pushing back the whole off season schedule. That would suck for everyone; fans, players, and teams.

I can't believe Goodell is actually thinking of doing that.

That's like our dumbass government (that we citizens voted these clowns in) cutting everyone else's pay because they can't come up with a budget.
