how many RBs do we need?
I don't think Ivory is an unrestricted FA and there is no way we'd sign steven jackson (who isn't a FA either I don't think)
no need to spend $$ on a RB unless it is to resing bush to be the #2 at the right price.

3rd tailback will be a vet at league minimum or a late round draft pick.
Can't see us keeping 4th RB on the roster, and I don't think there's any way in hell we give up a draft pick to sign a RFA like Ivory to serve as a backup to Miller. Just not gonna happen. If you want Ivory you'll have to wait until next year.

I disagree about needing a 4th RB. If you go back to what Sherman says he really envisions for this offense is 90 plays per game, with about a 50/50 run/pass split. To pull that off, you need 3 RBs to contribute every game. And in that case, you have to carry 4 RBs for depth.
People shouldn't sleep on Jonas Gray. He could be a sleeper.
And for a veteran pickup, because I would not count on Daniel Thomas being on the roster, don't be surprised if it's Peyton Hillis. He's a physical runner who could help in goal line situations, and he's got good hands out of the backfield. Of course, I'm talking about a really cheap deal.

Thomas could be gone if someone out plays him...that's for sure.
And while Ivory is a good player, its a pipe dream to think we are going to go get him.
First off, the Saints aren't going to just give him away.
Considering how big a flop Ingram has been, they are most likely going to want to keep him around which means he's probably going to get a 2nd round tender for $2.08mill.
There's no way we are giving up a 2nd round pick for the right to overpay a guy who will back up Lamar Miller.
Its just not happening.
If you want Ivory, you'll have to wait until he's an unrestricted FA next year.
