I think our #1 target in FA will be one of these dudes IF they don't get franchised or resigned...(which, sadly, I expect will happen)

OT Ryan Clady

OT Sebastian Vollmer

OT Branden Albert

Solve the OL problem (my first choice would be Clady) in FA and draft WR #1 (because the top UFA WR's all come with big $$ and significant concerns IMO).

I bet you he wants all three of the panda bears to help him block for the QB since he can't anymore.

Well, Truth, you have been (pushing) for a OL for the first pick in the draft. What about those three names (above), and if Miami signs one of them, then what?

I'm not truth but I have also been an advocate for a LT/RT high in the draft.

Clady will end up being the highest paid LT in the league.

Vollmer has some injury issues but he does play RT so he may be a good fit since Martin is probably not a RT.

Albert would be a great RT but has already said he is strictly a LT...meaning he wants to get paid.

That's why I would look at Cherilus and Beatty as lower priced options that still grade out pretty high.

Jonathon Martin was pretty bad this year and has a lot of growing to do.

The $$$ (net impact) would basically be a push since we're unloading Hermie.

I don't have an issue paying the bucks for any of these guys because they offer significant upgrades (especially pass pro) over Long. In addition, I'd put Martin back @RT with one of these dudes @LT.

I'm not pushing for an O-lineman Cap. I'm suggesting we take the BPA...even if its an O-lineman.

If we signed an OT and a guard (lets say Vollmer and Levitre) I'd still take an OT or Guard in round one if he was clearly the best player left in the draft.

If we drafted Eric Fisher to go with Vollmer we'd have a pair of stud OT's (I'm not sold on Martin).

If we drafted a guard to go with Levitre we'd be able to trade incognito or just cut him and free up $5mill to spend on another position.

As it stands now, I don't think Fisher makes it to us and I don't see a guard at #12 being the BPA...so I'm all for addressing those needs in free agency.

And the NFL has already shown that despite knowing the history of a player, a team will still sign those guys for an outrageous amount, and that team usually gets burned, but they still don't learn from year-to-year.

Best wishes to Long.
