I agree I hate when our corners play so far off the ball.. But to be honest once we got rid of Vontae, we didn't have a lot of corners that were comfortable playing press... Sean Smith plays press against the larger receivers and does it pretty well, but he plays off the guys that are speedy and quick..

It also seems Coyle likes to play the corners off the ball when he brings in parts of the secondary to blitz or stack the box in run support.. So some of it has to do with the scheme and he expects his corners to be able to close in quick on their respective spot or reciever..
