No s**t Sherlock damn Jaws is a genius. Jaws is a troll to me. W/ that Tanne does suffer from speed at the outside but he is also showing some of his bad habits from college.
In my mind, the jury's still out on Tannehill. And, to be fair, Jaworski didn't say that he was a great quarterback either. Just that he showed some consistency early on.
RT has all of the tools to be a great QB. Great talent surrounding him is the key to his current, and continued development.
You can't name one great QB that got that way on a talentless, or realatively talentless team. We are neither of those...but we need five or six very key additions to the roster to get us over the hump and into elite status.
We ALL know what's needed...now it's up to the brain trust to go out and get it.

GBO thats all we are asking....Seriously put Tannehill needs lots of improvement to get to the next level...But yes he shows a lot of consistency and upside.
IMO the sky is the limit for him. And if given the right weapons then the phins offense can become very good.

If we draft anything other than receiver in the first round i would be very upset.
Notice every receiver that we have gotten through free agency hasnt worked out. IM sick of it. Fasano from dallas Is the only one left i think and he is erratic as hell.
We need to groom our own receivers..
Now that we have a young QB with promise is the right time to do it starting next year.
Our lack of talent is confirmed the past few weeks.
Watched the network last night and saw we have no players in the top 20 at any position they listed, but they did have our TE as a "most dropped" fantasy pick, and our starting RB as a "sit em".
Jaworksi is a fool. As are most of these ex player announcers, studio hosts. They tell you the obvious stuff to most fans. It's really a waste of time. I stopped watching that crap years ago.
I remember when Marino was QB the pundits said we weren't successful b/c we had no defense. Then when we had Fiedler it was because we didn't have a RB. Then when we had all the other loser QBs it was because they didn't have a receiving corps. Now Tannehill can't perform because he doesn't "enough talent" around him. Seems like we are always making excuses for these players, and quite frankly, it is impossible to tell right now whether Tannehill is a Marino or a Fiedler or a Frerotte. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Marino didn't have a defense. This is true. Marino also didn't play defense, so there was nothing he could do about it except try to keep up on offense.
As for the rest, I don't recall ANYONE ever comparing Fiedler or Frerotte to Marino. There is just no comparison. Fiedler didn't win because he a was Fiedler.
Actually it was for the latter part of his career that Marino had no defense.
For the first part, the problem was he had no running game. His best running back was Tony Nathan and he had Woody Bennett and Lorenzo Hampton.
But also remember that same Defense that he inherited when he took over from David Woodley had gone to the SuperBowl in Pasadena against John Riggins and the Redskins were the "Killer Bees" with Bokamper, Baumhower, Doug Betters, Bob Brudzinski, and Lyle and Glen Blackwood as well as Non-Bs, A.J. Duhe and Paul Langford.

When Marino was drafted, our defensive coordinator was Tom Olividotti. The defense we had was built by Bill Arnsparger, but Olividotti managed to ruin it with his "bend but don't break" schemes. Olividotti had talent to work with...but any success he had with the defense early should be attributed to Arnsparger. By the time Marino was picked as the starter, the defense was already sliding. Arnsparger's defense may have been able to hold off the 49ers in Dan's only Superbowl, but Olividotti's defense couldn't stop them.

Also remember the 'Superbowl' that defense went to was actually a strike bowl we got to by winning a couple of games on our side of the bracket in a hastily arranged 'Superbowl tournament' after a nearly non existent season played mostly by replacements.

As long as he doesn't rage out and head butt a wall, we know he's not a Frerotte.

So let me get this straight....RT has a good game and it's a fluke. Bess has one and he is a beast? lol

Who was his QB in this career year? How did he do with other veteran QB's?

If Tannehill has done anything, it is spread the ball around to whoever gets open....when he has time to go through his progressions...which has been rare in our losses.
No one here has been bashing Bess. Everyone loves the kid but let's not make him out to be something he's not. He is NOT a downfield thread or a number 1 WR. He is an overacheiving, quick but not fast, smart, hard working guy with good hands (most of the time). He has 12 career TD's in 75 games.
He has had exactly two one-hundred yard games in 4 years prior to Tannehill. He has had two one-hundred yard games in 11 games WITH Tannehill.
He had a great day yesterday. He may just get better and better with Tannehill at QB if trending continues. One thing he needs to work on is keeping his feet after the catch. He tends to fall down after the catch too often. Had he kept his feet yesterday on the long reception yesterday, he would have scored a TD.
Bess is a great complimentary, possession receiver.
Agreed, Bess is good enough, and so is Hartline, but we need to have TWO other WR's with size and elite speed that are capable of routinely making big plays down the field. Then we have to have a TE that causes mis-matches while possessing the speed and athletic ability to get down the seam regularly. (A Gonzalez type).
Those three additions would open EVERYTHING up...with those players Bess is open more underneath, and so is Hartline on intermediate routes.
With the impact players we already have in RT, Bush, Thomas, Miller, and Clay, and the guy's mentioned above, we'd be very difficult to stop offensively...
They'd also make our defense better (even without any improvements player wise, which won't happen) because they'd have to play fewer minutes.
How many 1200+ yard #2 receivers do you see in the NFL? The ones you do see are in offenses that throw first like NO, NE etc. Adding a #1 would open things up deep for Hartline. He is averaging 14.7 yards per catch which is below his career number of 15.1.
That 14.7 number is above other big name WR's such as Jordy Nelson, Sydney Rice, Reggie Wayne, Hakim Nicks, Dez Bryant.
Roddy White is at 15.0, Andre Johnson 15.3, Miles Austin 14.8 so Hartline is not far off the mark from those #1 guys.
I believe he would routinely make plays down the field if he is left in one on one coverage by the number 2 or 3 CB...as would happen with a guy like Mike Wallace on the field.
