I think he's worth a look. But he'll be on his 3rd team in less than 1 year.
I wouldn't expect too much.
There's got to be a reason KC bailed on him. Even so...sometimes players produce more is a specific system. Maybe this is that system for Routt. I'd give him a shot for the right price.
Right now, after the result of the Colts' game, I would bring in every DB that is available and see where that goes.
In all honesty, it isn't all the DBs fault -- the front seven has to get some pressure on the opposing QB to make the DB's life a little easier, but saying that, there were way too many open receivers. Miami needs immediate help in the backfield, especially with Marshall now going on IR.
Tyrone Culver? He always did pretty well in the nickle defense and ST's.
Carroll and Wilson just aren't cutting it as much as they are getting on the field. Correct me if I'm wrong but Wilson is playing the nickle corner spot.
If the Dolphins new about the extent of Marshalls injury, we should have tried for a trade for a DB. He was a starter for cryin out loud.
This could get ugly as teams find out how to exploit our secondary.
