Seriously? You are implying Philbin is a bad coach because he sometimes plays his 5th WR?
I know this Nenenu cat isn't that great, but he is way down on the depth chart, and the team isn't exactly stacked at WR. I suppose we could call Chad up - that is if his bail terms allow him leaving the state for away games...
The only WR's we have on this team to speak of at this point are Hartline and Bess, as soon as someone else shows up, then I will admit we have more on the roster...They need to stop stalling and give my boy Rishard Mathews a few snaps... what does it hurt, we only have 2 on the field anyways and one is playing the slot..lol

Bess is a stud. I'd love to see him play like a normal WR and not in the slot. He had that guy faked out of his jock yesterday on the PI call. He cannot be covered.
LOL. No, Dude. You need to share. Funny thing about people who are blitzed out on drugs, they think the rest of the world is high and they are normal. Anybody who thinks Nee Nee Na Na Na Na Nu Nu is a great receiver, like you eesti, is really trapped in the hypothetical I just described.
You know, I'm no fan of Ireland, though I don't loathe him like some. He certainly has made his share of boneheaded moves, but let's also, in all fairness, point out that he's made some decent moves as well. A lot of people were critical of trading for Reggie Bush when that went down (I was somewhat skeptical myself). That turned out to be a damn good move. Reggie is light years better than I would have imagined he'd be. Good role model for the younger players by working his butt off after practice etc. I wanted to make the trade for Kyle Orton but have to admit I was wrong. I wanted to sign Flynn (who got beat out by a 5'11" third round pick). I know it's only two games, but Mike Pouncey is playing like an all pro. Like I said, Ireland's made a lot of mistakes, but I for one will admit that it could be worse. We could have Carl Peterson making the player personnel decisions. The stench of Peterson is still clinging to Kansas City years later.
I have defended Ireland against attacks on him picking Bush, Long, Pouncey, etc. But just because a guy makes about 10% or 20% good moves, does not excuse the 80%. RT was a gamble at best that might turn out very good (and it's leaning that way) but might have blown up in his face.
But the point is still the 80%.
But eesti, I do think Ireland is responsible for Nee Nee not getting cut and one thing is for sure, it doesn't seem like Philbin who would be incompetent enough to have this guy as the starting receiver.
I may be wrong. But I do think Ireland has an extraordinary influence on this team and its operation and I think the extent of that influence might explain why Harbaugh said, "Thanks, but no thanks."
I'm no Ireland apologist. I just think that the vitriol spewed at him is disproportionate to what he's done. For example, Ireland is in no way as bad an evaluator of talent than Dave Wannstedt. That point can be made effectively in five words: "Jamar Fletcher and Eddie Moore." Honestly, I think a lot of what we have experienced in Miami is the long term effect of having had that mustached imbecile destroying our roster for five years. Maybe the reason I'm not as negative about Ireland is that compared to Wannstedt, Ireland seems like Albert Einstein.

Mine too, and I was wondering how long it'd take for someone to call him that in a post.
kudos btw to Chyren for reminding me of that OLD Dickie Do and the Don'ts song that I'd forgotten all about.

Simple....there is no one that is better that is presently on the roster. If our young guys would step up, then maybe there would be a change. Philbin has already shown he isn't afraid to make changes.

Well, it was Naanee who blocked three Texans on Thigpen's punt return for a TD, really being the guy who sprung the play open. In week one, Bess, Hartline, and Armstrong all had more snaps on offense than Naanee. And Naanee barely played on offense this week. Right now, he is a special teams guy. And a good one.
