Dolphins QB David Garrard, listed atop Miami's depth chart, has suffered a knee injury that will prevent him from playing tonight vs. TB.
RT @seankjensen: Dolphins QB David Garrard very recently had knee surgery that will sideline him, according to a league source.

Jesse Agler, said he practiced wednesday night, but Thursdays practice no media was allowed... So that explains why nobody knows about it... Was his knee just drained, or something more serious like a MCL, and not the dreadful acl...

Recall, if you will, that last season Garrard insulted the Dolphins because we wouldn't offer him a guaranteed contract? Recall even further that he then went on to have season ending surgery on his back about a week or so later?
Something strikes me as being really odd with this guy.
Omar Kelly tweeted earlier this week that Garrard was wearing a compression sleeve on his knee. It didn't come out of the blue. Probably just needs a 'scope to clean out some wear and tear of being in the NFL for a decade.

Odd? Strikes me he's a pretty, sharp cookie. .....but then again I'm a lawyer and like OTHER reptiles.

If the OL and running game is fixed by then tannehill might do better than some people expect on this site.
He is going to have his growing pains but thats to be expected.

Because of arthroscopic surgery? Maybe his career as a *starter* is over, but if he didn't rip up the ligaments in his knee he'll probably be back in one role or another.
Yes, I don't like eating a sh*t sandwich either but if you look at the menu of available free agent veteran QBs that's what's out there, sh*t sandwiches. If Garrard is done they need to look at a veteran QB other than Matt Moore to stand behind the rookie this season. At least DelHomme has Super Bowl experience.
Now that Chad Johnson is probably gone they may want to look at the menu and consider bringing UFA Greg Camarillo back, since according to the list he's still available. He's no diva receiver and might fit well in the West Coast offense. That's IF he's able to still play.

Well it's not about going too far, it's about having someone for the rookie to lean on during his first year. Even Marino had Don Strock, who had been around quite a while backing up Griese and being involved in I think three Super Bowls (73, 83, and 85).
I guess we just have to agree to disagree on this one.....because history shows that succesful rookie developement normally happens behind or with seasoned veterans at least on the sidelines. Aaron Rodgers behind Brett Favre would be recent history we should all be reminded of.

Well I agree with that however if Garrard can't come back, then it's time to look towards the wire and DelHomme is the only thing out there for now as bleak as that may be.....and he may not be there that long. I'm not sure that Garrard can help much from the sidelines since he initially looked as though he was having a hard time grasping the fast pace of the WCO playbook.
He looked good enough to win the starting spot. From all reports Gararrd is a natural fit in the WCO.
Besides Delhomme is out there for a reason. He is done and has been for some time...and would never win the starting spot over RT and Moore.
So even if it were to happen he would be on the sideline as well.
I thought your point was that RT needed a mentor as Strock did for Marino. Strock was on the sideline just as DG would be so I don't see the difference.

Not sure I agree about Jake Delhomme, but I like this idea.
Camirillo may not be the fastest guy but he has hands and not afraid to catch over the middle. Add to that , he's a gamer, and could help some of the rookie receivers develop. I hosetly don't know if he has any WCO experience, but seems like a guy thta could fit in.
I haven't seen the first string part of the game yet, but what little I saw, Tannehill looked prety good. Im looking forward to see what he can do with the 1s
There are 2,880 players on NFL rosters at this moment.
Greg Camarillo isn't one of them for a good reason.
We should be focusing on developing our young wr's with that 6th wr spot (moore, gates, fuller, hogan, etc) not looking to recycle a guy who had 29 total receptions the last two seasons.
Its one thing if you were bringing in a guy who could be a starter but Greg would be 6th on our depth chart right now...at best.
