LDE Mark Anderson, 10 sacks, 29 tackles in 2011
LDT Marcel Dareus, 5.5 sacks 43 tackles in 2011
LDT Kyle Williams, 6 sacks, 76 tackles in 2010 (injured in 11)(ProBowl 10)
RDE Mario Williams, 5 sacks in 5 games in 2011 (IR)
LDE Chris Kelsay had 5 sacks and 45 tackles in 2011.
Look pretty tough on paper but I think Mario is overrated a bit and coming off injury. Don't get me wrong, he had some good years but his numbers have been declining every year since 07 when he had 59 tackles and 14 sacks. (14,12,9,9 and 5)
Kyle W is also coming off injury. Hasn't played since Oct. 2, 2011.
They also still have Shawn Merrimen but what good is he anymore with those bad knees?
They could either be very dominant or mediocre. All sign say everyone is healthy so it may be tough.
Behind them they don't have anythone scarey at LB but Nick Barnett is pretty damn good. 130 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 ints.
Kirk Morrison and Kelvin Sheppard are the other LBer's.
Rookie 1st rounder Stephon Gilmore and Terrence mcGee at CB
Jarius Byrd, FS - 98 tackles, 3 ints.
George Wilson, SS - 106 tackles, 4 ints
Like I said they don't look too bad on paper but when is the last time you saw a team go big in FA and come away successful?
How do you think we match up? The weakness may be at RG vs Dareus.
Why so worried about Incognito? he is a monster...just ask the guys he's blocking. They want no part of him. Maybe he can't pull but we can work around that.
Samsam, you got to give Incognito credit man. He might not be dominant but he is at least above average. Don't be surprised if we resign him (as long as its pretty cheap).

Carey is a free agent and I don't think we will sign him. The guy to keep and eye on is Jake Scott from the Titans. He certainly has the right name.

We need players that dominate just not be adequate...
I give him credit he still a phin and i will back him up untill he remains a member of the phins...
we need tannehill to be the man and we need a dominant OL to get to the next level.

Yeah that name sounds nasty. reminded me of scott miller a wr we used to have when i heard his name for the first time.
Richie really looks like he's in good shape. Slimmed down to try and get more agile for the new scheme. Says he will not be required to pull much but will on rare occasions just to change things up and catch defenses off guard.

veteran guard from Tennessee. Durable. Never missed a game due to injury..120 games straight. Very good pass protector....decent run blocker. Will be 31 years old this year. 6'5 295 lbs. 4 years for Indy...3 for Titans.

It's very important. 2 division games???? They are much improved this year and maybe knocking the Jets down a notch. You never know how things will turn out in the AFC..besides they had the same record as us last year.
eesti, i agree any division game is important, if the pieces fall together for Buffalo, I think they will surpass the Jets and be a decent team.. They defintely on paper improved the defense in buffalo. And last year, we had issues on offense, specifically on the line. It is hard to tell how we match up, becasue we dont know how we will really be at RT , RG, WR and a different running game. Our scheme has changed so the pocket moving should help offset pass rush.. On paper it appears we improved weak parts of our line, and Long back healthy we hope, WR still a question, and the new running game.
Also how does our defense matches up vs, the buffalo offense, is critical as well? Can we stop their running game, how will KirkPatrick rebound after a down year?

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Well I guess we don't even have to play the game then right? We also got swept by NE. Does that mean we have no shot this year? We've never beated Houston. See where I'm going here? In the words of Herman Edwards...."That's why they play the game!"

Based on adding the top prize on defense in FA this year. They added two pass rushers that will probably bring 20 plus sacks with them. How do you double team 4 guys on the defensive line? You can't. A rookie DT with 43 tackles and 5.5 sacks...Pretty damn good for a rookie and pretty damn good for a DT. The guy next to him is a former Pro Bowler.
I'm not saying we didn't have a better draft or that we can't beat them...but it's not a given.
