But you stuck to your guns on your opinion that we should not have drafted Tannehill at number 8 (but should have traded down and gotten him later).
We did so that's done. I hope the best for him.
But, emdiggy, not only did Tannehill's stock rise from a later round pick during the 2011 football season to the number 8 pick at the time of the 2012 draft but now the "escalation of expectations" has continued to the point that, since the draft, some posters on this board are already saying that he is as ready, if not more ready, to start from day one of the regular season as were Marino, Elway, and Peyton, even though of those three only Marino had a good first year and HE did not start until game number 4 of his rookie season.
They are all saying "Why NOT start him?" What do you think?
The only reason some fans and media members are suggesting that he could possibly start from game 1, is his familiarity with Shermans offense. Philosophy, language, and repetitions (at A&M) give Tanny a slight edge over the vets. I dont really think it's an over expectation by any means.
