Tannehill = Pennington

After watching his introduction to the media, I came away extremely impressed by Tannehill. He clearly has a great head on his shoulders. He was articulate, knowlegable and humble. I liked how honest and "matter of fact" he was. At times, you could tell he thought the questions were kind of stupid, but handled them well. In no way did he resemble Henne to me. Henne was ofish and boring and repeatedly preceded everything he said with "Well I mean...". I think this guy will carry himself a lot like Pennington, but he has more talent.

Pennington could not throw the long ball at all, accuracy or not.

Tanehill has a very good arm, and he also hasn't proven a damn thing in the NFL. I don't think I'd compare him to Pennington.

I wouldnt mind if tannehill was pennington with a stronger arm.

That would have the makings of a dynasty type qb.

Pennington with a stronger arm would make another dan marino.

That would be great.

All that kept pennington from getting to the stardom level was that he had such a weak arm.

Even with a weak arm he made some noise in the NFl.

That and the fact that his shoulder was made of glass.

Let's hope Tanny avoids the injuries that Penny suffered.

I'd be thrilled if RT had Penny's accuracy and smarts. He's already got a better arm, is faster, and more athletic. But the accuracy/smarts that is going to determine whether he's a successful nfl QB.

Actually, Pennington would've been a franchise QB,even without the strong arm, if he could've stayed healthy. Injuries ruined his career, not his weak arm. Which means that accuracy reigns supreme and a strong arm is a bonus.

Yeah, if he turns out to be Pennington with a strong arm, I'd be as happy as a fat rat in a cheese factory.

kelreign, injuries turned his average arm into a rag arm. I agree if he never hurt his shoulder he'd still be playing at a high level.

Tannehill will run away from contact.....One of the best attributes that i like from him is that he is physical athletic and can run and avoid the rush.

Pennington on the other hand was slow as molases. He had a knack for when the play was close but still really slow moving in the pocket.

True. I think of Marino. Even with his strong arm, accuracy, quick release, and ability to read defenses, I feel his best asset was his feet. He wasn't a scrambler, but he was extremely elusive in the pocket.
