Ozzie Guillen...

I know this isnt Miami DOLPHINS talk, but its pretty close.

I also know there are alot of Cubans on this board (SamSam & Monte), now I have to admit....I didnt hear a word that Ozzie Guillen said.

I do know he mentioned something about Castro.

What are you guys' opinion, the Cubans on this board of course, on what Ozzie said.

Someone can also fill me in on exactly what he said, because I did not hear it.

Ozzie said he "loved" Castro and respected him for staying in power for so long. Of course, Castro tortured and killed his way to the top, and that's how he kept power. Sorry, but I wonder if he'd say the same about Hitler.

Anyway, more news came out about Ozzie. Apparently he's an alcoholic. He admitted that he gets drunk and passes out after every game.

This guy is beyond an embarrassment. At this point the team has suspended him. I hope that's just a precursor to his firing.

So much for the great new baseball stadium. This news has overshadowed that by a longshot!!

Ozzie has no filter guys, he never incensed a whole community like this in Chicago (maybe once he made some gay referneces) but he's a non stop quote machine......good or bad. I'll bet Kenny Williams is smiling.

There are political prisoners in cuba who get thrown in jail for 20 years for wanting to leave that country....

My uncle got in a boat to come here in the 60s............They threw him in jail. Luckily he got out for some mirale....

All he wanted was to be free....Thats what my father wanted for us too liberty.........thats why am here.......Now i can get in front of the white house and say obama sucks and nothing happens.....Its called liberty of speech..........

You mean to tell me you get thrown in jail for wanting to leave to another country....You call that liberty...FU fidel castro.

am almost 50 now.....When i was about 9 i went to school all i had to eat was one freaking fried egg...ONE..............No bread nothing else.....Was walking to school hungry as hell...

And that was in the 80s......Now is even worse.

My grandfather used to buy food in the black market..........Because they give you a little booklet....2 galons of milk 2 loafs of bread..EDIT you get rice too etc.......a month is all you are allowed....YUP THey ration you freakin food.

If they catch you buying food or pigs meat in the black market off to jail you go...

thats cuba...BRB Got customer.

Batista VS Castro

both were animals one a capitalist swine the other a commie pig both pieces of shit. The folks that like Batista were the ones that he was not persecuting. Everyone loves the republic when their belly is full and they are not the ones being hauled off to jail.

I like Ozzie but he should have known what town he is living in right now.

Luckily none of my family members got murdered in that country....But my father and my uncle know many people whose family members were.

We feel their pain...........

PS. Cuba is still my country and i bears my flag. I love my country and wish someday it were free of comunism so my children can go with their children and visit.

PS2. One of most cherished latin salsa singers CELIA CRUZ......Died in this country.....Her wish was to go visit cuba before she died...of cancer.....She was never allowed to go again by the cuban goverment.

I wonder if they will ever allow willy chirino to go there? HMMMMM When the frog grows hair!!!!!

I hear you samsam but for me whichever one that took your family or loved away is the worse. Regardless of their politics. Cuba, Chile Argentina etc.

I grew up in MIA but my family was not originally from there.

here is the irony. these cubans who fled castro and hate him so much did so for "freedom." the freedom to do and say what you like, which you cannot do in cuba. yet if someone exercises that freedom here in the way they do not like, they want you suspended or fired or worse.

Good point berkley....................I dont mind if he says it....He has the right to say what he wants....BTW he is not going to go to jail or anything because of that because we live in a free society.......Just let him go manage another team because he is a communist....

We latins do not want another fidel castro managing the marlins thats all. We also have the right to say OZIIE sucks and he is a communist.

Hey we live in a free society man.

BY the way i voted against obama....and i will vote against him again this year because he sucks and is leading this country into a even worst way than we were before.

Now you are being stupid, you know just as well as I do that many people have been dragged to jail just for their beliefs by right wing dictators as by Castro. As previously alluded to the MIA cubans only want their own brand of dictatorship, the right wing kind. You have no concept of democracy.

This is thread is about to deteriorate.

BTW way berk if ozzie was living in cuba and says the same thing about how the american are all great and the best...He would have to spend the rest of his life in prison.

yes, that is precisely my point. who wants to live in a place like that? now of course he is not going to get sent to prison for expressing himself in the US, but if a certain segment of the miami population had its way, he'd be fired and banned from baseball for speaking his mind in a way they do not agree with (and I am sure they would not be opposed to throwing him in jail if it were possible).

No matter how you feel politically , You don't say something like that when your fan base is made up mostly of people that hate the guy. Thats like having a baseball Team in Isreal and stating you Love Hitler. And this guy is a Pro Manager!? What a dumbass. I'm sorry.

throw him in jail?

Nah

We just do not want him managing the marlins thats all.

He can do whatever he wants after that. This is a free country.

Berk maybe the cuban people had just too many bad experiences with comunists and communism. Thats why they do not want ozzie to be related to this community any more.

From hunger to torture to oppression, freedom of speech etc.

That he can say whatever he wants. Go ahead say it...This is a free country.

Its just hard to take..............that he idolizes a tyrant who has killed so many, has tortured so many and has a country living in hunger and in fear.
