He has not delivered the franchise QB that was promised. That no one can argue with. This FA is a total bust concerning our most glaring need.
Add in, that we had to part ways with our best receiver...and one has to ask themselves who brought that disaster into the organization anyway?
Answer: Jeff Ireland.
The argument can be made that Henne and White were Parcell's doing but Ireland was still one of the primary personnel guys involved in the acquisitions.
The only way to save the team now is to cut ties with Ireland and get someone in place for the NFL draft.
Philbin is the inocent victim here, so let the guy shop for his own groceries, at least for now. Ultimately it will be his as$ on the line anyways when we bomb the season.
ireland sucks, but given a rookie HC full control over personnel isn't the answer either. the answer was to dump ireland along with sporano, and then bring in a comeptent GM

At least bring in a caretaker GM to assist before the draft....maybe Jimmy Johnson or Marino would come back on board at least as a consultant.

Getting a QB does not make him a franchise QB. Signing Matt Flynn would not have been "delivering a franchise QB." Did you consider that maybe they think Ryan Tannehill is a better option than Flynn? Sherman has compared him to Rodgers. And, the rumor has always been that Ireland was opposed to bringing in Marshall, and had that move forced upon him by Ross in an effort to bring excitement to the team.

You ever hear of AJ Smith Crowder? Pretty sure people still wanna play in "Whales Vagina", stay classy.
Ok so now it's coming down to this - Ireland wants to interview a QB that the Jags don't want back because they want Henne to be their backup to Gabbert. How creative. What a monumental FA QB signing this would make.
This better not be his hope for the future of this team, because if it is, I'm gone until he's gone. I'm assuming that Jeff Ireland is totally afraid to or is completely incapable of drafting a QB until he proves otherwise.
