I wonder if anyone has thought about calling up Greg Camarillo...isn't he a UFA this year for Minnesota? He was fast, good hands and would maybe fit well in a WCO. Add some receivers to compliment through draft as well.
A&O, Why doesn't Lloyd fit the bill if reasonbly priced? We spent a lot to resign Solai, so we may be limited on what we can do if we sign Peyton or Flynn

We didn't spend a lot on Soliai. Ben Volin reported his cap number for 2012 will be just over $4M.
As for Lloyd, he's not a real big guy, and he is pretty fast. I don't know what kind of route runner he is. But, he did drop quite a few passes last year on short routes over the middle. That's probably a red flag. There's also his age, the long career history of doing nothing until 2010, and his success has not come in a WCO. I don't think he fits.
Manningham, on the other hand, is young, has been consistently productive, and played in a version of the WCO in college at Michigan. As everyone knows, I am a Michigan fan. And I'm a big fan of Manningham. But, I wouldn't break the bank for him. You just don't know how much he has benefited from playing opposite Nicks. I think he is a solid WR who can give you a big play, and if we got him at a decent price, I'd be thrilled. But, for big money? I'd pass.
I think we are waiting for the market on WR's to die down. Then we might try to bring someone in for cheap. But, I really think we will double dip at WR in the first three rounds of the draft. GB had great success getting WR's in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and I think Philbin is trying to target guys like Jennings, Jones, Nelson, and Cobb.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't Kendall Wright be a great fit in the WCO?
We might do 3 but then who do we cut? 3 rooks, Hartline, Bess, Gates. We will have to cut Moore and Wallace. Guys who we have been developing for a couple of seasons. I would hate to see them finally break through with a different team.
Donald Driver will likely be cut before his roster bonus is due. If Green Bay doesn't re-sign him to a cheaper deal, I could see him being brought in for depth and to help teach guys the system.
Gates has the speed to excel in this system. He is the kind of guy you could throw a 5 yard crossing route to, and he outruns the defense for a 70 yard TD. Bess will thrive, because he'll fill the same role he's been filling. And any QB who can hit Hartline in stride will make him better. He has been behind the defense a lot the last 3 years, and always has to wait for the ball. Remember the Moore TD against the Raiders? A short pass into big gain? That's the WCO. Too bad he can't catch very well.
I think Manningham is a true #3 WR. He's great in his role. But to bring him in as a #1 would be a mistake. We've got enough Manninghams on this team, we need someone better.

There concept of a #1 WR in a pure WCO does not exist. We need an X. We have a Z in Hartline, and we have a slot guy in Bess. Manningham played the X in NY. He would fit the role needed in the offense.
It all depends on the money. The draft is very deep in 2nd and 3rd round talent WRs. They would certainly be cheaper than Manningham. The trick is finding one who can contribute as a rookie. That's not easy to do.
