Trading away BM for 2 3rds...
I am done with this team...Unless they replace BM with a real #1 quickly...We've succeeded in destroying this team with one move...
Our running game was a success because of the 1200+ yards Brandon Marshall produced..he commanded double coverage on every play...opening up the running game...
Laurent Robinson is injury prone and a #2 receiver...
Brandon Lloyd is also a #2....
The only equivalent play here is replacing BM with Blackmon in the draft. By doing that, we are wasting a pick instead of filling a needed hole..
If we don't sign Manning ....I am DONE!!!! Not renewing my season tickets...I am out after 11 years of paying for season tix...
Ross and Ireland --> This is simply a message if you don't get Peyton..
YOU SUCK!!!!!
BTW: Signing Flynn without a true #1 receiver is USELESS!!!!!

So, why was our running game more successful before he came to Miami?

Not in 2011. They moved him around a lot, used him in the slot. The result was he got more one on one coverage than he ever had in his entire career. When you think about the 7 dropped TD passes, all came on single coverage.

And Brandon Lloyd's 2010 season was much better than any season Marshall has ever produced.
Marshalls strentgh was YAC. He was/is a bear to take down. I believe Philbin has his sights set on a tight end for that and wants more of a faster down the feild #1 reciever in mind for his offense. Give the guy a break . I like these ballsy moves. Lets see what they have in mind before you shoot from the hip.
R u kidding me? Our running game had serious problems before BM came...
If you know anything about football... A true #1 receiver comands double coverage ...pick your poison...Single coverage on the #1 or one less man in the box...
Robinson or LLoyd are #2's....
Lloyd is a showboat receiver who will disapear for 3 games straight...
He is a #2...That is why he has been traded 3 times in the last 2 years....
Unless this move was to sign Peyton Manning...It SUCKS!!!
Flynn will only be successfull with a true #1 receiver!! PERIOD!!

We were #4 in the league in rushing the year before Marshall came. We got him, and we fell to 21st.

Yup. But, that wasn't the case for Marshall in 2011. He didn't draw double coverage like he had in the past.

I am, however, considering merging all the "I'm DONE" posts into a single thread

Miami ran the half-wit wildcat during that time and had Brown and Williams doing it. All points to the reason of a focused run game and he reason it ranked higher than last year's. Who'd Miami have last year? Bush? Oh yea... His most productive rushing season ever? All with three different qb's? Marshall still had over 1000 yds and near the top in receptions in AFC despite this!!! You still wanna argue that Marshall had zero to do with helping Reggie Bush be a successful runner finally?
You're right... Marshal is worthless.
The idiocy of some people and the sand in their vag's about Marshall hurting their feelings because he wasn't as friendly as you wanted him to be? Seriously??? When's your ballet classes start?
So glad we got rid of this pest.......And just as we traded him he had a fight with a woman in a night club and hit her with a bottle on the face or something like that....
Brandon marshall was a pest and im glad we got rid of this pest.

Are you reading with your cyclops brown eye? The story says HIS WIFE GOT HIT WITH A BOTTLE IN THE EYE. Not him hitting some woman with a bottle.
His big wallop on some random woman was most likely him pushing people out of the way leaving an establishment where people are fighting and trying to rapidly get his wife to safety.
Real menace to society there. I'm sure most of you would probably ask politely for people to move out of the way so you could leave with your injured wife in that moment.
Or maybe some would fly out on their magic carpet based on the rational thinking process of some people on here.

I understand all the bad that goes with BM but you need to have a plan first, are we a better team today then we were yesterday? NO, Name a team other then maybe the browns that now have a worst Receiving core then the Dolphins? Why did they not go after a top WR? I am just dumb founded with the lack of any plan this team seems to have, I hope I am totally blown out of the water with some big move they have planed, but I just don't see it. To bad I had already made my first payment on my season Tix or I would not be renewing, hey I may just let em keep the 300 bucks and walk away.

In the WCO, you use 5 guys in the patterns. Double teams are extremely difficult for the defense to do. That's the whole idea of the WCO, you spread out the defense and get one on one matchups. You also don't throw the ball to one guy on 30% of your pass attempts.
You replace the 1200 yards by spreading it out. You get 600-700 yards from Marshall's replacement. You get some from Clyde Gates. You get some from Charles Clay. You get more yardage from Bess, Hartline, and Bush. It's not that hard.
And Marshall did not draw a lot of double teams in 2011. In 2010, we played him purely at the X position, and he drew double and triple teams. And because he is such a jerk about his targets, we forced the ball to him anyway. And since his lack of speed limited him to 10 yard patterns, he drew the safeties closer to the line of scrimmage. It was a big reason why the offense got so much worse in 2010 than it was in 2009. But, in 2011, they moved him around a lot. He played X, Y, and Z. And he got more one on one coverage than he ever had in his career. That's why he set a career high in yards per catch.
Our offense was better in 2009 than it was in either 2010 or 2011. Replacing Marshall is not that hard. Why would anyone think it's a good idea to run your whole passing game through one guy? We threw to Marshall on almost 30% of our passing plays. Do you think that helps us? It doesn't need. You need to be diverse. Calvin Johnson is the premiere WR in the league, and he got thrown to 23% of the time. And here we are, throwing the ball to Marshall 30% of the time, a guy who drops a ton of passes every year and has averaged just 12 yards per catch for his career. 12 yards per catch! All this fuss over a glorified possession receiver!
