Let Chicago be an example of how to rally behind your QB

Ireland should take notes. This is how you build a franchise. Cutler has had his struggles, but we all know he's talented. Instead of "freaking out" and bailing on him CHI did the opposite; they rallied behind him. They brought back his #1 WR and his QB coach. They have dedicated 100% of their resources behind him to be sure he's got everything he needs to be successful. They made a commitment and they are sticking by their commitment. That is how you build a winner. God bless them. Seems Miami has "freaked out" year after year and have not allowed any of their talent to thrive because of it.

So you think we should have continued to support Henne?

And since when is Chicago a football franchise worth emulating?

Cutler has his own issues and IMO if any one player has to be coddled and pandered to I think that hurts a team pretty quick. Support is one thing, but not at the expense of overall team chemistry. Time will tell if Cutler and Marshall are a bona fide winning combination. They weren’t in the past so it’s pure speculation to say they’ll hit a home run this time around.

Other than that, we have a brand NEW HC and revamped org so maybe we can do things better than we have in the recent past. It is a distinct possibility and until proven otherwise I’m OK with supporting the program.

OK, this is the funniest post i've ever seen now. I live in Chicago GNR, the team and the fans are way more fickle then Miami fans, you wanna be the most popular guy on the team.......become the back-up QB. I'm giving it 4 crucial drops before they want to tar and feather Marshall. 4 tops!

Does it really matter when the entire team is high on cocaine?

Too soon?

First, this is the first time I have heard Cutler talked about in the same breath as Montana, Elway, Peyton and Dan.

He was a guy who couldn't make it in Denver.

And how long do you think it will take for BM to start blaming Cutler if the team is not winning?

In many ways, this post is better to read if taken sarcastically.

I'm not saying specifically Henne, I think he's a bum, but I mean the theory of sticking with your QB. Weather or not Chicago fans appreciate this or not, it says alot that the owner and front office is aiming high and not taking Cutler for granted. Good QB's are hard to find - very hard to find. Not saying Cutler is a HOF'er but I'd take him over the countless bums we've had in Miami since Marino retired.

You guys totally suck btw.

We "totally suck" because we’re not supporting your coddling Cutler?

Your post is essentially an incoherent fragment and you’re not elucidating any clear ideas pertaining to the circumstances that exist today.

So what’s up with that?

I go away for 3 days and have a zillion threads to catch up on.

After reading half of the I've come to this conclusion:

The Miami Dolphins are cursed with some of the DUMBEST, most REACTIONARY fans on the planet.

Some of you guys are a fu@king embarrassment.

(this post is not directed at anyone on this thread or any thread in particular I'm just in an airport on my iPhone and don't want to start another thread.)

You deserve marshall. Hope he gets suspended for at least a season.

I'm a 63 year old man, grnbaby. I know you've been a long time poster.

But I have one question. What in internet language does "KYS" mean?

Chyren,

Your age doesnt matter. The only age that matters is the age that you are when you have to start using Viagra. Thats when you are considered old.

Are you there yet?

Henne is a guy that the Miami coaches didn't necessarily support. Sure, Sparano gave a bunch of lip service "supporting" him, but watching how Henne was handled with kid gloves, he wasn't supported OUT ON THE FIELD. The man had a gun for an arm, and was rarely allowed to use it. Sure, he didn't always hit on the big one when given the opportunity, but the offense wasn't really geared to do that. Half the time, Miami's WRs couldn't get separation.

Cutler is not an elite QB, but he is one of the better ones in the league, so naturally he is a guy that the coaches should stand by. And they are smart in getting Marshall in there. He finally has his #1 guy. That will open up the Chicago offense. Every team is always looking to improve -- no QB is taken for granted. People's jobs are on the line. Ireland is always looking to improve the Miami Dolphins. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be around for long.

BTW, at least 90% of Miami fans would also take Cutler over anyone Miami has had since Marino. He is a damn fine QB.

Also, no one on this board sucks -- we are all Finfans and have our own opinions.

captkoi, nice to meet you. It's hard to find members who can have an intelligent conversation around here.

I agree that 90% of dolphans would love to have Cutler (myself included)

I would just like us to take 5 years and commit to certain direction. Firing our coach, etc is just setting us back imo. I hope unless Philbin is a complete dope we can give him a fair shake. Of course Ireland is next to go and that would mean a rebuild, which would suck.

Thanx, gnrbaby.

I would also like ownership to give the coaches time to get the team going in the right direction. As much as I liked Sparano, he just couldn't get it done. Sure, the players played hard for him, but not those first 7 games, which is what got Tony fired. Ross said the team had to win, and they didn't. Three straight 7-9 seasons will get a coach fired pretty quick. A team just show improvement.

Philbin just needs to show improvement. If they can, at the least, go 8-8 and show improvement over last year, Philbin will continue to coach. He will stick around next year, also. His third year, has to improve even more, and more than likely will have to get the team in the playoffs. If not, he would save his job only if the team showed they were still improving, but injuries or other factors caused the collapse (or whatever it would be called).

Anyway, I said it when Philbin got hired; give the guy some players and have patience. Let's see what he can do.
