I think the best news today was that manning isn't even going to meet with miami. This is good news b/c at least we know he's "out," even if he hasn't had the courtesy to at least tell the team officially. News this morning was that he was going to wait till after FA starts to decide. Can you just imagine, he strings us on just long enough for Flynn to sign with CLE, leaving us with NOTHING in the manning/rg3/flynn race.
Tannehill is a "break glass in case of emergency" option, and not a very good one at that (taking him in the TOP 10!!! ugh). And now it looks like we'll need to trade up to make sure we get him, if CLE doesn't get Flynn or SEA wants to move up. So I think we all better hope we get to overpay Flynn by about 20mm, b/c the alternative is even worse!

I'm OK with moving on from Manning for 2 reasons;

1. As Berk pointed, he's gonna wait till after FA starts to decide, this would of hindered our pursuit of Flynn, and......

2. It's looking like he's gonna request most of his recently released teammates to join him on whatever team he signs with. While those guys might of had a little left in the tank, we would of had to restructure (which costs money down the line <re; Pittsburg/Raiders>winking smiley or outright cut some players to accomplish this, making us thin at other spots. Not sure the trade off would of been worth it.

Joe rose pointed out on the radio that flynn is going to demand 9 mill a year. Too much for a backup scrub QB.

Manning can demand a lot of compensation, but to have to take *all* the other baggage cut from the Colts? The hell with that.

JC if we do take all that other baggage, then do are we going to come to be called as the "Miami Colts" or the "Indianapolis Dolphins?"

Id be happy to see Mimai get Saturday (C), and oka with letting Reggie Wayne give it a shot for making the roster.

That said, I think we need to fish or cut bait soon (within 3 days. I am however not losing my mind over Flynn , not as sold on him yet.

I don't mind Reggie at all, either with or without Peyton, the latter of which I am not a big fan anyway.

How much do you think Reggie will cost?

I'm taking it for granted that is just a guesstimate on Rose's part. He may be right in that it may be the going rate, but hopefully that is not the case.

$9M is too much for an unproven guy, especially a QB.

The only advantage Flynn would have over Tannehill is experience.

Reggie Wayne is still a top 10 WR in my opinion. He almost had 1000 yards with no help.

I don't know, but I'd undoubtedly start calling them Nottingham, Bulaich, and other Baltimore colts' names who came to the Phins in the 70s.

WTH we'd be nuts if we sign this guy for this amount.
