I am a huge College Football fan....and we all heard the bogus rumors about Oregon's Chip Kelly being targeted (again, I think it was bogus).
But, is there any legit coaches in the college ranks that would make a good NFL Coach?
Bob Stoops? Chip Kelly? Dare I say, Nick Saban? I think Saban would still be our Coach, and we would have a Superbowl right now if he would have taken Drew Brees over Daunte Culpepper.

I would hope the national championship game answered that question for you.
Who had the better gameplan? Saban. Who made the better adjustments? Saban. Who had their team more motivated? Saban.
I dont know of a coach I would role the dice on who is currently or has been just a college coach....
If I had to pick some one from college to give a shot, I would probably say Jim Tressel...
The reason I bring him up, is because I think to be a pro coach, you have to know how to motivate players and get players to play inspired ball for you, and that has alot to do with if the players feel the coach has their back, so to speak...
While Tressel got alot of negative press for how he handled the situation in Ohio State... The players were the only group that idolized Tressel for how he handled it... So I think he could motivate profesionals... That is the biggest problem with the transition of NCAA coaches... It is alot different motivating a young kid, then it is to motivate alot of hot shot pre madonnas.. This is one of the reason Saban failed, a professional just isnt going to take that type of motivation that works for Saban in College... Pro's resent it, in the same way they resent Ireland...
No way to Les offensive than we have by a Miles. Nope. Not him.
Obviously Saban is a brilliant defensive coach, and seems to have the skill set for the NFL. His fiasco here will be hard to discount if he ever tries to make the transition again. But I seriously doubt he will - he can play GOD where he's at and there's no doubt he loves that role.
The HC of the Ducks is interesting, but I'd like to see him as OC first before taking the huge jump to NFL HC. But again, I doubt a dude like him would be willing to make that sacrifice...
I'm not aware of anyone in college that looks like the next JJ. But I'm sure there's someone that fits the spec, the question is - is Ireland sharp enough to find him? Ireland seems to default to "play it safe" mode and I seriously doubt he'd risk his career on a college HC. My opinion of course...

Jim Harbaugh didnt win the Pac-10 last year, did that mean he wouldnt be successful in the NFL?

Greetings, been a long time since I have been on here. Trying to find a way to expand the posts since I am again deployed and it takes forever to read each one as a separate page.....I would rather see a brand new High school coach come to the dolphins before I would ever want Saban back anywhere near my team. In fact, I would quit following the Dolphins if they made that move, and I have been a fan my whole life. I have nothing good to say about his time as our coach, so I am going to end it there....lol.

I hear there are some great high school coaches out there? Maybe we should look at someone from the Pop Warner league as well? Just want to cover all our bases
