Is it more about the Offensive system, or talent of the QB?

Here is what I mean, after watching the 49ers yesterday, and Alex Smith go basicaly head to head with Brees in the 4th QT, and get the best of the guy that broke Marinos passing yards record this year... And for the last what 5+ years or so,Alex Smith has failed to stand out or get the job done... Sure he wasnt that great in the redzone... But when the game was on the line yesterday, he looked more like the past NFL MVP then Brees...
Whats the difference in success? Only one thing I see, the coach and the system... A coach and system that took a guy that looked to be out of the NFL and someone nobody wanted including me, and has him in the NFC Champonship game next week, after leading his team to the win in the play offs and first week bye...
What does that say? Some coaches and systems, are that strong, that they can take a guy who has failed year after year and bam i nthe championship game.... Look at Sanchez, sorry but he sucks, worse then any QB we have had here over the last 3 years... And Sanchez has been in 2 AFC Championship games in his 3 years....
Matt Flynn comes out and just lights it up against detroit, like he was better then Aaron Rodgers.....Matt Cassel looking like Brady in new england, but a bum in KC, What is that, the system seems to be the obvious factor to me, more so then the talent....at least to a certain degree..

Also do you worry that it is the Harbaugh system in Stanford that has made Luck such a superstar? THe guy made Alex Smith look like a superstar in his system in just one year.... If u take Alex Smith out of the system, what do you get, When you take Luck out of the system what do you get?

You could be right, but nothing will matter for us as long as we have Matt Moore.

I want us to draft one of the top 2 and keep Moore and sign Henne... and those are our 3... I just have a feeling the Jets are gonna pay Henne

Why would you wanna keep Henne?

We invested alot of playing time and starts in Henne.. He has a value. I would draft RG3 or Luck. Sign Henne and keep Moore, let them compete for the starting spot... Once our rookie comes along, or the situation arrises, I would trade whichever one(Henne or Moore) has greater value to make up some draft picks...

No thanks, if we were lucky enough to get RG3 or Luck, I really wouldn't want Henne stealing much needed practice reps. If he'd take 3rd string money maybe, but I doubt he'd do that.

Yeah those lack of much needed practice reps and pressure really hurt Aaron Rodgers success..

I believe we are gonna go after a QB other then just Matt moore this offseason...I am just not sure how...Do we take the o cordinator for Green Bay and Matt Flynn... Do we go after Peyton Manning or do we go after one of the 2 elite Qb's in the draft... I am thinking that has to be the attack plan of the front office...

From what I have observed, in order to have a successful program at any level you need both things. First, a dynamic and modifiable offensive system where flaws are quickly identified and continuously tweaked by coaches. Second, a bright field General that has dedication to a machine-like nonstop off field & after practice mental preparation regimen. That's the New England Patriots.

I don't think Henne will have any interest in us or that we will have any interest in Henne. His contract is up.

Either is important and a can be successful (Good QB with average system, good system with average Qcool smiley, but the combination of BOTH (a good QB with a system that suits him and is good overall) is what you really want. That's what we had with Shula/Marino. Under JJ the offensive system stunk, but under Shula it was brilliant and geared exactly for Marino's strengths.
