In this particular case, unsubstantiated rubbish IMO. Ross may have some issues as an owner but I find this kind “story” akin to a food fight in high school.
And frankly, anyone who believes one victory upped the price by 40 million is pulling their underwear over their head. Seriously…
The only way I'll be pissed that we don't hire Billick is if we go out and hire another "experienced HC" like Wade Philips or Mike Martz, with it looking bleak for Fisher coming here I'm over this experience thing. Let's roll the dice on a hungry young offensive minded guy, ala, Jay Gruden/Chudzinski/Philbin or Carmichael.

C'mon...
Bilick was doing his job...trying to win a football game.
He made the right decision which was to take a winless team to OT figuring you would beat them there.
Taking Bilick off the list because he LOST a football game to us is insanely short sighted.
Billick shouldn't be on our list because he's not a great coach...period.
As for the $40 mill...Ross cost himself that. If he let WH squeeze $40 mill more out of him because we went 1-15 instead of 0-16 then he's a soft negotiator, WH would have found some other reason to bump his price even if we'd lost that game.
Billick isn't getting this job because Ross didn't connect with him. Thats is. Its not about money, its about personality. It happens. And in this case, its good for us that Ross didn't like him.

I said that a little jokingly, unfortunately, its hard to see that with just words on a screen.
But what I was serious about was the pot-shot Billick took at Ross. Dont even try to excuse that.
Pot shot? He quoted him in his book. Ross needs a sense of humor. Anyway he shouldn't be making coaching decisions based on things like this. What is he, 12?

Ross needs a sense of humor?
Did I miss it? I thought the article indicated the comment Ross made about the $40 mill was a joke.
Shouldn't Bilick be the one searching for a sense of humor? I mean c'mon...who takes a comment like..."you owe me $40 mill" seriously?
Ross may need to work on his delivery...but who cares if he's a comedian or not?
If I'm ross and I crack a dumb joke and somebody just bristles at it and then uses it in a book as if I were serious, I'd be pretty put off by that fellow and there's just about now way in hell I'd turn over my favorite billion $ toy to a guy I didn't like.
