Do we still rank highest/lowest of all the teams with 3 wins? Carolina, Jacksonville, Washington?
Anyway, we need to start backroom talks with St. Louis and Carolina ASAP. Neither of these teams will be picking QBs, but BOTH could be picking ahead of us. We need to see who we can use to trade up. St. Louis will be the best bet, as they are the worse of those 2. I think Jacksonville could win another.
But Carolina does not scare me...they already have a QB.
Washington, Denver, Indy, and Minnesota are threats. You could argue that Minny just got Ponder....but if they fire their HC, a new Coach might not like Ponder.

locks to take or trade the farm for a QB (ahead of us) in the 1st: CLE, WAS, SEA, INDY. Teams that very likely would: AZ, DEN. Indy has locked down Luck. I think Carroll would trade the farm for his former USC boy Barkley. We need to pull for these teams to finish worse than us. Wash and Ariz fortunately won today, which helps. No way any of the teams who took a #1 QB last year takes another one this year (other than luck, but that's out). I am glad we didn't take someone like Blaine Gabbert last year just to take a QB in the 1st, he looks like a dud and the top QBs this year look much better.
Minn will keep Ponder, Cleavland will keep McCoy, Colt's will draft Luck, Stl will keep Bradford, and Seattle will take Barkeley. We will prob be fourth overall.
So I would suggest a trade down to mid first round to acquire the best WR in next year's draft. Adding one opposite of Marshall will make this offense instant good.
Then with the additional pick either being a second round or third prob second take a RT, I like Murtha though when he comes back next year to play there, so DEFF take a RG second round maybe TWO.
Give Moore more time and weapons I believe he will be top 10 QB next year Deff franchise, hell he is better than Sanchez and look at well C'mon on man!
Beside's we already have one the most accurate passer's that came out of the draft last year on our practice squad.
to compete for starter.
If you want to draft a QB next draft take Kellen Moore and be done with it.
We'll need to trade up if we want a top 3 Q in the draft.
I see us finishing the season winning at least 3 of the last 5, maybe 4. That puts us at 5-11 or 6-10. Probably pick 7-10.
The good news is that puts us in a good spot to trade up with a team not needing a Q...Rams, Panthers, Chiefs.
It may take next year's #1 as well. If Barkley is available, I say we do it! Personally, I think Barkley will stay for his Sr year.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Barkley stays at SC. He's no Matt Leinart, who just wanted to be big man on campus--Barkley's wired to play in the NFL. His stock has gone way up this season. Maybe he'd be number one overall next year, but he's definitely top five this year, maybe #2 overall.
At this point, another year of college is just taking one more year away from his NFL career.
