oh dear Lord not Carl Peterson.. that guy will be worse then Ireland. I think it is becoming time for me to depart this mess and find another team to cheer for, until a new owner is found...thumbs down

Carl Peterson has much more accolades than Ireland.

But, I dont want Peterson...at all.

Shula is as old as the crypt keeper. Im not sure he has all his marbles there anymore.

Yeah, I know. We missed that boat years ago. He's just one of the few guys I would trust. Because of what's happened since he retired, I'm leery about pretty much anyone else.

I totally understand. There is still a special place in all our hearts for Don.

I just feel that we need to pluck one of the you FO guys from one of the top organizations. And the Cowboys are not a top organization.

I'm in 100% agreement there. The top organizations in the NFL as I see it (in no particular order) are:

Pitt
NE
GB

If we could actually PULL someone from those guys, rather than just picking up someone who they fire (which means we're getting their scraps), I'd be happy.

We've picked up enough jetsam from the Cowboys organization anyhow.

And I am also fearful of Peterson coming in here and doing so poorly that he makes Ireland look like Einstein.

Agreed, and the other thing is Shula also got lucky with personnel moves.

His greatest asset was his hard ass, tight reign approach that lost its effectiveness with Free Agency. Could he have adjusted? perhaps....but in his last season he continued to start Eric Green despite him missing 39 practices.

To be honest, I think Sparano's methods would work fine with better talent and a better OC.

Guess who was the first guy to hire Jeff Ireland in the NFL?..........you guessed it, Carl Peterson! Bringing him in as a consultant doesn't necessarily mean Ireland would be out, we'd probably have the law firm of Peterson/Ireland/Shotenhiemer......Brian that is, no thanks! Go get Cowher, Fisher or Gruden at let them hire their own GM.
