This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
This brings up a serious point. Did it occur to our brain-dead zombie coaching and management that one of the times we scored from close in is when we did something "unpredictable" like Henne quarter-back sneaking.
Didn't they learn a damn thing from New Orleans last play of the game when they set up to run from the 1 yard line AND ACTUALLY STRAIGHT ON TRIED TO RUN WITH NO FAKE, NO NOTHING.
That's what we did on that 4th and 1 play. We set up to pass and then we passed.
No option, no fake no nothing just "This is what we're gonna do so see if you can stop us."
We used to do that when I first became a Dolphin fan but that was 1967 and we had a guy named Larry Csonka and another guy named Jim Kiick and Mercury Morris and Paul Warfield and Jim Mandich and others.
We'd say, "this is what we're gonna do so see if you can stop us."
When asked what would be his greatest nightmare, Don Shula said to play against a team like us where it would be like in a dream that you know what the team is gonna do but you just can't stop them.
We don't have that team now and we certainly neither have the coaching the management or even the ownership.
Therefore, we need to keep the other team guessing and not simply do the predictable.
I hear you Chyrene. When Daboll called that play the first time , I was like "WHAT?" I never heard a stadium groan louder. Then........You do it again!!? Are you serious? Thats almost reckless coaching IMO. And right after that deflating stop , Boom , Welker Hits for 97 Yds and its done time.
