That's typical coachspeak. After a win, things aren't as good as they could be, and after a loss, things aren't as bad as they looked. No one, except for a few loose cannons, go out and publicly bury their tema after a loss. It does nothing but make everyone feel even worse about their team (especially fans), and presents a negative picture as well. Owners, GMs,and fans don't want to hear the team sucks and is hopeless.
Not saying he should say they are hopeless...Just saying he should call them out at least the defense as a whole and say they didnt play well...Call them out on it instead of wasting his time blabbering how great the offense did.
The offense did well but not good enough to beat the pats.
Sparano clearly believes in the Don Shula style of not throwing your players under the bus to the media. The players have said that Sparano is a legendary Yeller, so he has plenty of fire. He just doesn't air dirty laundry to the media. That's one reason the players like him so much.

That's good to hear. Now if only he can get the stop-the-defense-from-laying-a-collective-egg-on-gameday aspect of Shula's coaching style down pat, we'll be in good shape!
I agree with you sam. The best thing to doafter you f**k up is to have the negatives brought to your attention. There is no reason to stroke egos after that loss. It is ice to reinforce the postiives but when the negatives cause you an emberrasing loss, something needs to be brought to light. I don't know if Sporano is only performing lip service to the media but those players that remain on the roster need to know that Monday night's performance is UNNACEPTABLE!
They fired the guy who did the worst that night in Sapp.
That act alone did more than any speech would do.
They did the right thing, in fact what good is it going to do to rip on Dansby,Taylor and everyone else?
Nothing but piss them off at each other then start pointing finger's, and it kill's the cohesivness of the unit.
Nolan is still a defensive genuis and will have it worked out.
Differance between us and the patriots is stellar o-line play by the Patriots and they have two fantastic TE's and the best slot wr in the world. Oh yeah also Tom Brady.
