I have to disagree with you, Wilfork is the best D-lineman in this matchup. But, the Dolphins have the better D-line BY FAR.

Haynesworth hasnt even been a good player in 2 years. We have a 7 deep rotation of guys who could start on almost every team in the league.

I think the “surprise” will be…

On O we will pass a lot on 1st down and attack the edges running as opposed to inside the T. This game is 100% going to be won or lost with the QB position. We’re not going to feature a dominant running game against NE – more flares, quick toss edge attack, slants, some deep go patterns and definitely some creative trickery mixed in.

The key IMO will be to get NE’s D guessing and not allow Billygoat the luxury of scheming against a predictable O. Henne has to be smart, efficient, make quick accurate decisions AND deliver the ball with accuracy (like hitting receivers in stride). That’s a tall order IMO because he’s been so inconsistent to this point in his career.

Plan B will be to insert Moore if Henne falters. And frankly, from what I’ve seen so far, I think Moore has superior pocket presence, footwork, quicker delivery, and faster mentally. I realize yanking Henne in the opener would be a death blow to his fragile psyche but I’m definitely NOT into blowing 4 or 5 games if he’s still the same player he’s been to this point.

On the other side I’d expect NE to spread our D out and look to exploit short to intermediate holes – keep the ball and work on getting our D to react to their scheme. If that happens they’ll use more running game and look for some quick play-action hits. Pressure UP THE MIDDLE is critical for us IMO.

I would like to see us come out in a hurry up offense once we have the defensive formation we want....base defense...and start slinging it. We need to put as many points on the board as we can in the first half and let defense do what they do.

BB is the best in the business at halftime adjustments so we need something else up our sleeve if what we start with stops working.

Agreed, but let's not fall into the recent trap of getting a lead in the first half and sitting on the ball in the second. I want to see us run up the score if we can!!

I agree with this assessment BNF. Although I think we will help our OLine and Qb out, by moving the pocket constantly and rolling out. Daboll, will use the unknown to keep the defense guessing where we are going to set the pocket from, if at all. This will offset, NE Interior pass rush ability against our weakest part of the line, guards... Pouncey is quick enough ot get to where the pocket or line is moving to...
If we a try and play standard power rushing and pocket passing, we will have a hard time.. The QB 3 step drops will help, with shifting quick, as compared to Henne's old 5 and seven step drops he did last year

Nice production emdigg. Keep up the solid video work. I completely disagree with some of your assessments, but hey, that's the beauty of the USA. We all get a say! I look forward to revisiting this post monday night.
