good numbers as WA starter tonight. how hillarious would it be if he actually ended up being a good QB? I still can't see it tho

it'd be hilarious as long as he didn't do it at our expense. I'm rooting for him to set team records in passing for the Skins, but for their defense to be so sorry that they have a losing record.

I thought he was really a good player coming out of college, but once Cam was fired and he drafted Beck the tuna did not want any part of Beck. So in essence Beck was the scape goat for this teams sorry ass offense in 07, and it wasn't clearly his fault at all. I wish Beck well, and I hope he becomes a star in the league. Hell I would take him back on the phins if he really does become a very good QB for the Redskins in a heartbeat. Anyway Beck was screwed by the fat man running the team at the time he was hired, and now he gets a chance to restart his career. Good luck John, and give em hell son. Any way how could you really judge what kind of player Beck was going to be based off a 1 win 15 loss year. He was not given a fair chance to show what he could do for this team only after a handful of starts for a very sorry team back in 07.

Beck was in a terrible situation here in Miami. By the time he got on the field, the team was in full "please let the season end" mode. He's a smart guy with an accurate arm. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had a good year.

Beck had oppurtunuties in both MIA and Baltimore at times he looked good at both but reverted back to his scatter arm ways. He had one good game where special teams put him in pretty much cann't lose positions. I am still waiting on this guy. He has plenty of time to work things out so if he has good for him.

If Beck does turn into a credible starting quarterback for the Redskins, all of a sudden the 2007 Randy Mueller draft I had always thought was a disaster would start to look halfway decent.

#9 Ted Ginn Jr. Obviously the biggest flop. But Ginn at least isn't out of the league—he was third in the NFL in punt return average for the 49ers last year. You don't want to spend a #9 pick on that, but it's something. His career as a WR has been hampered by his tendency not to catch the ball.

#40 John Beck. In spite of his Garo Yepremian impersonation Berkeley linked to above, he could conceivably turn into a starting NFL quarterback.

#60 Samson Satele. Starting center for the Oakland Raiders.

#71 Lorenzo Booker. Failed w/Dolphins and Eagles, trying to earn a spot w/the Vikings this year.

#108 Paul Soliai. Franchised.

#181 Reagan Maui'a. The juggernaut. Was out of football for a year, now trying to earn a spot w/the Cardinals. Punched a guy outside a nightclub for not knowing who he is.

#199 Drew Mormino. Do you know who he is?

#219 Kelvin Smith. Injured and waived by Carolina a few weeks ago.

#225 Brandon Fields. 5th in the league last year in punting average.

What stands out is the whiff on the first-round pick, a kiss of death for any GM. Whatever the mistakes of the current FO, none of their first-round picks so far looks to be a flop.

Jimmy Johnson whiffed on every 1st-round pick he had with Miami, but no one complains about his drafts. Just saying..

He had enough misses to prove it's not a "kiss of death" for a GM.

It's a kiss of death in the eyes of your average fickle, ignorant, NFL fan.

whiffing on a top 10 pick (spending it on a PR of all things) is not the same as whiffing on a pick in the 20s. it's much worse. That Ted Ginn pick was a real stinker, especially to a team that has so many glaring needs.
