We are saving up our money to make a push at Nnamde Asumugha!?

1. Keeps him off the Jets. Rumors are that the Jets are about 10 Mill under the cap.

We have that beat. We were about 20 Mill.

2. Adam Schefter reported 3 teams seeking his services. The Jets, Cowboys, and a 3rd team he coldnt put his finger on...aka...unknown team.

3. For some reason we are unwilling to want to spend the extra cash on Kyle Orton....what are we saving it for???

I think if we signed him, it would solidify us as a top 3 defense, possibly pushing for the #1 defense overall.

Vontae and Nnamde would make Cam Wake have about 20 sacks this season.

I love the idea.

that would be a bad move. we have much bigger needs than a CB. I'd rather use that money to fix those needs. Blowing our budget on a CB when our team has glaring holes elsewhere just to keep a player off the jets is not a good idea. I'd rather sign Brian Waters and extend Vonte Davis with some $$ left over for other fixes like a new ILB.

Davis and Smith are fine with me and come at a better price. These two aren't far behind Asomugha and Revis and they are younger.

I'm not sure paying the best CB in the league a large amount is "blowing" the money.

Ireland has clearly demonstrated that he does not want to pay for a stud QB, as he refuses to draft one early. He didn't even flirt with signing D. Williams, so clearly he doesn't want to spend the money in the backfield either.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me if this did happen.

If we added Nnamde, we would have the best defense.

That would be our identity.

the raiders had him for years and they still stunk. adding him would not solve our problems. we've got very good CBs as it is now.

So glad he went to Philly and not the jests.
